I don’t even know why it was a discussion... These lazy fukks need to go get a 2nd job and pay back the fukking debt that you signed for. There is literally a labor shortage in America right now, they’re begging people to take a job. The damn Taco Bell up the street from me has had a now hiring sign up for months.

Say less. Dont speak on grown people shyt

It’s not going to be a focus right now with federal loans effectively being interest free given the pause

Waiting until the last minute is something that Congress seems to operate on, so it would totally be the norm for them to do it in this instance as well. Whatever solution they do will have to be through Biden as there's no way they will get the votes needed to do it with reconciliation or even want to go that route for it.

You are delusional if you think the country is serious about wiping yall's voluntary debt:mjlol:

I hear more people complain about not paying their loans than I do about our lack of universal healthcare, which is a far greater travesty.
There really is no reason why both shouldn't happen but this is America.

Well there is one reason, and its called the federal deficit.

The deficit is already in shambles (10.3% to GDP), and its only going to get worse as baby boomers start to draw on social security and medicare.

Don't think its a problem? Take a look at Greece back in ~2011.

I dont know. From what I heard thougg most student debt is from people woth decent paying jobs that can pay it back. Not sure if that is true, but if it is then it probably isnt that pressing a problem like it is made out to be.

No one thought it was a problem when the government was wasting money or giving it away to "allies" but it's always a problem when it comes to doing something for the people of thjs country:camby:

Breh- I totally agree with you that there should be more governance on spending, especially when it comes down foreign aid.

I just believe that loan forgiveness is simply a ploy for young votes, and there are much more important ways to spend the money, healthcare being the #1. Hell, there is a stronger argument to made for reparation's (e.g. restitution) than there is for student loan forgiveness.

I paid all my student loans on my own,

I still think that the debt students got needs to be forgiven.

The Amazon CEO just purchased a 500 mlllion dollar boat but we want to get all up in arms if the government decides to forgive a few dollars in student loans for most Americans.

America, man.

The government has wasted billions and trillions of dollars on useless shyt over the years. Don’t pick student loans as the hill to die on complaining about :comeon:

Especially considering that they (including Biden) helped create the problem and allowed it to become what it is now.

If you understand American politics you know you only get 30-40% of what you're promised under any circumstance/party/administration.

Unless it's unanimous/heavily decided public settlement, it's probably not happening and that's why America has slowed on progress, people are arguing about if something should be done as opposed to WHAT should be done, or HOW we do it. That's how countries with a concentrated focus like China catch up/surpass you

Overpromise and underdeliver while knowing that it more than likely wasn't going to be possible or easy to accomplish in the first place.
