I can't even choose. Too many gems. Like, how many rappers have even one song in their catalog as good as "Rewind," "2nd Childhood," "What Goes Around," or the intro? Crazy thing is this is probably only my 5th favorite Nas album.

The Best Two Song are between "One Mic" and "You Da Man". I cannot not choose which is better they were both EPIC. I remember hearing both 1st when they had Dogs barking on them with the bootlegs.

I was really hyped to hear Stillmatic. I still remember being on Audiogalaxy and Winmx when it was coming out. I listened to the album little by little as it leaked. It started with "Got Ur Self" (that song grew on me) then the sampler with the barking dogs leaked and I remember being hyped off of "You're Da Man", and especially "One Mic". Even "Rule" had me like :wow: Somewhere in between, I remember "Ether" droppin' and that sent anticipationt through the roof for me. Then the album leaked. It took me a minute to get over the initial hype and really get into the album. I remember loving the "Stillmatic Intro" in addition to the songs I already liked. For some reason, it took me a minute to get around to listening to the final two songs ("What Goes Around" and "Every Ghetto").

One night I was randomly playing songs from the album and "What Goes Around" came on. After listening to that song, I was like :mindblown::wow: That being said, "What Goes Around" not only became my favorite Nas song, but one of my favorites period. "Every Ghetto" was just the icing on the cake. After that, it was unquestionably a 5 mic classic in my book. I had to cop it. My original has since scratched to oblivion, so I had to buy it again.

this is bringing back memories. Was a freshman in college. When i heard that intro def had a nikka like :ohlawd:

But the tracks that stood out for me the first time i heard them were
- one mic
- you're da man
- poison (i call your holiday hell day )

plus nas was painting portraits all over that album. Its amazing how this dude could paint a scene in each song without going overboard with words (aka cannibus) :ahh:

Why would you want to hear that? those dogs are annoying. But back then all of us NaS fans were thirsty so we took it. All I know is THANK GOD "The General" didn't make final cut. I remember when that song was on his website and NaS fans were worried "STILLmatic" was "NaStradamus 2", lol:
