Always
shyt put a young nikka on, I'm down to listen. They ain't hiring young black men down here like that. I get tired of finessing these cac tourist that come to city for the amusement parks.
Alright. Child care is wide open for black people. We used to be the nannies and sitters before Latin immigrants came into the game and locked us out. You need to find a customer base. I used my camp job to start my business. Started with ONE client babysitting. Then I got referred and so on and so forth. Kids have appointments they need to go to. Can you get them there ten minutes early?

Present yourself as a professional. You don't gotta wear a tie or even a collard shirt. Just be clean and approachable. Talk to everyone. Everyone is a referral. I call it flirting. When I leave my house I talk to everyone because everyone knows somebody with a kid. Work in public spaces to promote yourself. I'd take my kids to play at the park or a school yard. Other kids and parents saw how good I was with kids and they'd hire me on the spot.

Be the best. Be cheap. I was the best nanny period. But I charged people what they could AFFORD to pay. That's why parents loved me. I'd work with them. I had sliding scale I think it's called. If you brought your kid to with other people's kids too I gave them a group discount. Lmao I made more money either way. So I trickled down my savings to my clients. Be fair and firm.

Research the market. See what the best charges and why they're the best. Luckily I have been working with kids my whole life. I was an IA. I was studying to be a teacher.

Let's say you don't have the ability to work with kids. That's cool. Your next step is to monetize your skill set and knowledge. What can you do well? Do you have any formal training or education behind it? Lol bro I dropped out of college. I've milked my half degree for like six years. I have completed educational programs like teachers path. You gotta get some credentials behind you period. I was charging 8-30 an hour because I had credentials. But other nannies with college degrees charged way more than me.

If someone was poor I'd charged them 15 an hour for three hours and every hour after that was 8 dollars an hour. You gotta work with your customers base. Listen to them. I learned to play magic because my kids played magic. When my kids got into soccer I volunteered to coach their team for free. I did ONE free season to prove my worth. After that I started my soccer instruction business.

See what I did? I monetized my skill set. And adapted to my market. At that point I have two branches of Mr.Mom. child care and soccer instruction. I realized my clients never had dinner ready when they all got home. Lots of take out. I started preparing ALL the food for my soccer teams and clients. Brought in people who knew more about food and soccer than me and I learned from them.

Third branch of my business was cooking instruction and meal prep. I was a vegetarian at the time so I worked with families with dietary restrictions so I could charge more. Find your niche man. Monetize your skill set. Diversify your skill set.

Now I'm all in with cooking. I'm getting my credentials now so I can charge what I used to charge as Mr. Mom. I'm going to attempt to get a contract with Oakland unified school district to start meal programs. I just need credentials before I pitch my idea to the gods. Can't ask for money and not have credentials or a plan.

Anything a non speaking English immigrant can do. You can do. I was going to start a landscaping business. I don't mind working hard. Think about it, most Americans want to support Americans. Black people used to do all those jobs. I'm just reclaiming them for us. Ain't nothing wrong with working hard everyday man. My life isn't glamourous but I'm more independent than most people. I don't need friends or even a job. I never have to sell drugs to make money. I just get to sitting these kids and cooking this food if I'm light in the pockets.

This is exactly what I mean man :salute:

This nikka on my FB stay talmbout some skateboard bullshyt but not aiming to buy his own skateshop :mjpls: Let alone nikka not even trying to make his own skateboard for christ sakes :ohlawd:

Try a test, a prototype, SOMETHING :why: Stop working for the Man for $10/hr. He don't want to weld, do plumbing, take a civil service exam or learn 2 code so fukkin own your industry, move up the chain and stop bullshytting already :francis:

A lot of small business ledgers are out of whack so you got loads of potential clientele available. Become an excel whiz and learn some database management shyt and you'll be rockin in no time breh

In Colorado it'll probably cost $10-15k same as any other small shop setup. But competition will be a mofo so you'd better be bringing some unique skills in cultivation :wow:

nope dont have to
growing weed is growing weed
I'd be happy with all black clientele
that'll be the niche

The PROBLEM is thinking there is ONE solution. People will call themselves enlightening you and then get mad when you don't agree. Stop trying to find people that agree with you and keep doing what you're doing and being vocal about it. If you're making moves, then share and if someone is with it, cool if not that's cool too. We also need to be open minded. Often times we disagree with each other solely because we want to change the opinion of who we are talking to. Just because we are exchanging ideas doesn't mean you need to do what I'm telling you to do.

Whining doesnt fix shyt. The freetime is spent doing things to prevent me having to wake up at 3am in the future.

Wait till I get a guy to do my website for me:mjpls:Bout to slide in DMs and then the ATM.

@bdizzle lemme borrow your identity, breh:jawalrus:Imma be working on the plantation, though:beli:

Thanks for the advice. Their's a park down the block from me, It's one of the few places I haven't applied. But i will apply now, that might be a good start into doing my own thing. The only reason I didn't earlier is because kids are a huge liability, I think. For example if one of them breaks their neck at the jungle gym or something while you're watching them then you're responsible. And plus I got sort of a :yeshrug: attitude when things happen. But I'm professional and honest just not emotional & patient. Like if I told a kid to climb down from something and he didn't the first time I asked and got hurt. I wouldn't tear up, I'd just be like :ehh:" I told you to get down, should've listen the first time."

I also was thinking long term of getting a trade and setting up a business around that.

Lol bro I've tried in real life to put nikkas onto legal hustles that pay thousands a month. They always say" I don't like kids." "I'm uh need more money." Lol the solution to being a whiney ass broke bytch it to drink when lead to the well.

I come off as condescending or arrogant. I know I do. But here's my thing. I've ACTUALLY accomplished independence at a high a level before the age of 25 without a degree. I'm not bragging. Those are my credentials. Thing is I'm willing to GIVE the game to anyone that I had to struggle to learn. The one black man who accepted my instruction is now a successful small business owner in Las Vegas while being a kitchen manager. He actually went from being my personal assistant, basically my bytch, to being the boss. He ran my business while I counted money and took naps.

I had him mow my lawn. Drive me around. Cook me meals. Clean my girl's house and pick up shyt clients I didn't want. But I taught him everything I know about drawing clients and managing relationships. I also paid him 400 dollars a month and he still made extra money baby sitting. I split my business in half and gave him the baby sitting branch. He was making 700 untaxed every month. I pulled him out of his shytty retail job and told him I could pay him more money than he'll ever make at gamestop.

I hire a dark skinned, beautiful, black woman who hated white people and was the smartest person I've ever met. I had an all black coaching staff. All my employees were YOUNG black folks from my neighborhood looking for opportunities. Nobody cares about us. I fought my way out the hood, went back, and brought a ladder with me.

He inspired me to pursue cooking. He and I got plans together. Big ones.

All business is the same essentially. Anyway I'm dropping too much knowledge. I'm sure someone will hate on it.

Lying ass neega :camby:

I'm joking share the knowledge breh :feedme:

Safety first. Your fears are real. The biggest risk in child care is liability. That's why they have insurance as cheap as five dollars a kid. I'm not kidding. I looked into it just in case I started a camp. You need insurance for that. All schools have insurance. All camps do as well. If you get a job with at a camp or after school program they're liable and insured. Remember safety first. Watch your language. And don't touch them or allow them to touch you. Don't pick kids up ever. Or allow them climb on you. Don't photograph children. It's creepy. Parents want privacy. They don't want their kids on IG without their knowledge.

I suggest fitness for kids man. That shyt is the new frontier. Go to your local JC and see what quick programs they can offer you in something you use ASAP. car repair. Electronic installation. Welding. Computer repair. Landscaping. I've considered starting a car washing service. I used to clean drive ways as a hustle. My boy would rent out his pressure hose to me and I'd split my take with my homie who had a truck. I've tried a lot of shyt man. Keep swinging fam. You'll connect.

:whoa:Nope. I dabbled with html and javascript back in the early 2ks with pirated dreamweaver and Coffee html(something like that). I would rather pay someone to do quality work than get some premade microwave rubbish. I can do the graphics to spec, but having a man do the backend shyt is worth parting with some dollars for.
