Ain't nobody tryin to get indicted.
Alright. Child care is wide open for black people. We used to be the nannies and sitters before Latin immigrants came into the game and locked us out. You need to find a customer base. I used my camp job to start my business. Started with ONE client babysitting. Then I got referred and so on and so forth. Kids have appointments they need to go to. Can you get them there ten minutes early?shyt put a young nikka on, I'm down to listen. They ain't hiring young black men down here like that. I get tired of finessing these cac tourist that come to city for the amusement parks.
Present yourself as a professional. You don't gotta wear a tie or even a collard shirt. Just be clean and approachable. Talk to everyone. Everyone is a referral. I call it flirting. When I leave my house I talk to everyone because everyone knows somebody with a kid. Work in public spaces to promote yourself. I'd take my kids to play at the park or a school yard. Other kids and parents saw how good I was with kids and they'd hire me on the spot.
Be the best. Be cheap. I was the best nanny period. But I charged people what they could AFFORD to pay. That's why parents loved me. I'd work with them. I had sliding scale I think it's called. If you brought your kid to with other people's kids too I gave them a group discount. Lmao I made more money either way. So I trickled down my savings to my clients. Be fair and firm.
Research the market. See what the best charges and why they're the best. Luckily I have been working with kids my whole life. I was an IA. I was studying to be a teacher.
Let's say you don't have the ability to work with kids. That's cool. Your next step is to monetize your skill set and knowledge. What can you do well? Do you have any formal training or education behind it? Lol bro I dropped out of college. I've milked my half degree for like six years. I have completed educational programs like teachers path. You gotta get some credentials behind you period. I was charging 8-30 an hour because I had credentials. But other nannies with college degrees charged way more than me.
If someone was poor I'd charged them 15 an hour for three hours and every hour after that was 8 dollars an hour. You gotta work with your customers base. Listen to them. I learned to play magic because my kids played magic. When my kids got into soccer I volunteered to coach their team for free. I did ONE free season to prove my worth. After that I started my soccer instruction business.
See what I did? I monetized my skill set. And adapted to my market. At that point I have two branches of Mr.Mom. child care and soccer instruction. I realized my clients never had dinner ready when they all got home. Lots of take out. I started preparing ALL the food for my soccer teams and clients. Brought in people who knew more about food and soccer than me and I learned from them.
Third branch of my business was cooking instruction and meal prep. I was a vegetarian at the time so I worked with families with dietary restrictions so I could charge more. Find your niche man. Monetize your skill set. Diversify your skill set.
Now I'm all in with cooking. I'm getting my credentials now so I can charge what I used to charge as Mr. Mom. I'm going to attempt to get a contract with Oakland unified school district to start meal programs. I just need credentials before I pitch my idea to the gods. Can't ask for money and not have credentials or a plan.
Anything a non speaking English immigrant can do. You can do. I was going to start a landscaping business. I don't mind working hard. Think about it, most Americans want to support Americans. Black people used to do all those jobs. I'm just reclaiming them for us. Ain't nothing wrong with working hard everyday man. My life isn't glamourous but I'm more independent than most people. I don't need friends or even a job. I never have to sell drugs to make money. I just get to sitting these kids and cooking this food if I'm light in the pockets.

Let alone nikka not even trying to make his own skateboard for christ sakes
Stop working for the Man for $10/hr. He don't want to weld, do plumbing, take a civil service exam or learn 2 code so fukkin own your industry, move up the chain and stop bullshytting already

Imma be working on the plantation, though
attitude when things happen. But I'm professional and honest just not emotional & patient. Like if I told a kid to climb down from something and he didn't the first time I asked and got hurt. I wouldn't tear up, I'd just be like
" I told you to get down, should've listen the first time."

Nope. I dabbled with html and javascript back in the early 2ks with pirated dreamweaver and Coffee html(something like that). I would rather pay someone to do quality work than get some premade microwave rubbish. I can do the graphics to spec, but having a man do the backend shyt is worth parting with some dollars for.
You seem knowledgable. You open to adopting a breh?
