Jalen lost his job to Tua and responded by being the runner up for the Heisman. Responded to the criticism he faced upon being drafted by improving in nearly every metric and reaching the SB and going toe to toe with the best QB of the generation in Mahomes.

Achieved more postseason success than Tua & Mac Jones, both of which who were supposed to be more remarkable than he was in every way.

Responded to a loss in the SB by beating the same team that sent him home empty handed two seasons prior.

Folks won't give him his due because he's not supposed to be here. His lane was crafted for Burrow, Herbert, Allen, & Lamar. They don't have a narrative for Jalen because they were told repeatedly that he didn't belong.

They'll hold him having a competent front office against him while simultaneously using any postseason exit as a testament to him being mediocre. They'll also demand the guys they say are more gifted receive those same "stacked teams" and celebrate their victories by using it as a declaration of their greatness.

Jalen will succeed where he's supposed to fail because he has the intangibles that you cant teach. His mental toughness and work ethic will ultimately propel him & people will continue to discredit and resent him for it because names like "Joe Cool" are supposed to be there, not Jalen Hurts.

Yeah Hurts would have won in 2023 with that 49ers squad :manny:

Dude is a gamer

100%

He did what Purdy couldn’t. Deliver a chip with an elite defence.

Hurts is him… runner up league MVP, Super Bowl MVP… outplayed Mahomes twice in the biggest game of them all

I don’t get the hate

its the start of a potential HOF career, with greatness comes hate. he proved a lot of people wrong (including me because i HATED the draft pick when we drafted him) and you know how people are when it comes to admitting wrongs :manny:.

TBF is eagles defense is way better than the 2023 49ers though.

Since the bye week they have been at a GOAT level

Here's a look at the best defensive DVOA teams ever, including the playoffs, and where the 2024 Eagles would rank in the top 10 if we took out their four games before the Week 5 bye (and where they rank including those games). #FlyEaglesFly

This is a huge part of it, too. When sports fans reach a verdict on a talent, they're not budging, and if they do, they're kicking and screaming. Folks will sooner resent a player for proving them wrong before they show respect and admit they were off base.

Exactly. Especially the bolded. You can't teach that.
