Last decent DMX album was Year of the Dog, and even that was so-so and not well received at the time but I personally liked it. Can't even listen to any of his music past that :hhh:

It's a shame cuz this is the man that gave us 2 classic albums and at one point was bigger than Jay in NYC

At one point in time, he was the hottest thing in the world, not just Jay-Z in NYC. Just couldn't keep his nose clean.

Its too painful to talk about:mjcry:

X had at least three more dope albums in him before he fell off the rails completely

Ehh maybe. After grand champ his subject matter got redundant. People didnt take to the whole Bloodline movement like that. Grand Champ should have been his last true and he should have just stayed in that acting bag and just dropped loosies for a while. He had Hollywood by the balls for like 3 years. He really should be a a Mogul

You are correct, cause he's always been painfully average so to see him in his current washed state isn't much of a fall off.

Anyway, the falloff (album wise) started on Grand Champ, then Year of The Dog hit and it was over.

Carter 5 was a success and critically acclaimed :umad:

But on topic, after Grand Champ I agree it was over.

His first three are really his essential. The Great Depression and the one after are solid, but aren't nearly as compelling as "It's Dark And Hell Is Hot", "Flesh of My Flesh", and "And Then There Was X".

By 2004, when he was being arrested for driving into some area of JFK with a fake badge and a billy club, it was over. There just was no reason to listen to his music after that. And that was nearly 16 years ago. Just reading that story, he was so strung out.

DMX Faces Drug, Weapons Charges After Airport Incident

arguing with the car's owner, DMX had allegedly broken through a parking-lot gate after informing the attendant that he was a government agent, according to the complaint filed in Queens County criminal court. In an adjacent lot, Simmons allegedly stopped another driver and ordered him out of his vehicle, claiming he was an FBI agent. When the driver refused, Simmons forced him out of the vehicle, according to authorities.
