youre not an east coast cat so of course you would like swizz :heh:...he's good in small doses..a song here and there...not for full or majority of albums :hhh:
You're not even ADOS, talking like your an authority, gtfoh. And we're not debating if it's an east coast classic, we're debating if it's classic in general.

I think he only has one classic IDAHIH.......X was never all that consistent.Breh had the talent to every so often take it to Hall Of Fame levels.

Like his verse on Niccaz Done Started Something....Breh out shined some lyrical heavyweights on that track...I feel the same way about him that

I feel about Jay Z....They peaked on their debut albums.Jay stayed waaayyy more consistent over the course of his career, but he never quite reached

that RD level again.X never reached or surpassed where he was on IDAHIH.Flesh Of My Flesh is overrated IMO.Rode the hype coming off IDAHIH.

Those repetitive Swizz beats aged like white women.Replay value's terrible

thats your opinion...but i dont like swizz beatz production..the second album was full of it :hhh:..it had some joints but it was a drop off from idahih...and there was x was a return to some form

Right. And then there was X is better and aged better too

I've never seen anyone have And Then There Was X over Flesh. Really good album but clearly a step down, imo.

Thank you!

Huge X fan but i just wished he worked with Dame Grease more during their (both) prime. Aside from a few joints Swizz
is hella overrated. Very simple & obviously got on thru nepotism. How artists STILL seek him for production & features buggs me.
Either he knows how to politic or he holdin some power in the game.

I read a few yrs ago that Grease didnt wanna sign with Ruff Ryders' production team at the time. Prolly why he never worked with X as much as P.K, Swizz, DJ Shok & them.

Ironically tho Grease produced a few on "The Great Depression". But none of the trax became the stand-outs. A producer
named Black Key produced "Who We Be" & "We Right Here" which were 2 of the most memorable songs on it.
I think x and havoc would’ve made magic

I think it’s at least partially because it’s too sad. The fall off is likely directly caused by or at least interlinked with his depressing addictions and personal demons. Hell really is dark and hot for our dog X.

So for Understandable reasons, so one wants to talk about that shyt. His fall off isn’t THAT bad either. He just started mostly picking worse and worse production, his singles got worse, and the new sound of the 00’s just passed him by. He didn’t totally forget how to rap or anything.

Still. It’s Better to just bump his first couple albums and think about the better days.

Reaching for this let's me know you do feel that way :manny: don't let me get in the way of you enjoying "I am the shyt, they just poop stains" and "I'm jumping in this shyt like a poo poo in the potty".

Lol exactly and theres plenty of more wack verses that this wack nikka has in his peak

You are correct, cause he's always been painfully average so to see him in his current washed state isn't much of a fall off.

r.

I’m far from a Wayne fan. You’ll be hard pressed to find many posts from me in the booth either positive or negative about him. That being said he had a few years in that Carter 1 and 2 era (and those first few Dedication era mixtapes) where he was a legitimately dope rhymer with a pretty effortless flow and some slick wordplay.

Carter 3 he still had skills and wasn’t as dope an emcee as before, but even Carter 3 in hindsight is a pretty decent album hip-hop wise considering it was basically sold as a pop album. It’s one of the last albums that had singles with 3 verses and basically no hook (A Milli) where you could find white girls that weren’t hip hop fans rhyming the entire song.

Bro did a rap album that legitimately crossed over. But yeah I never got down with any Wayne music post 2007/2008

Arizona and them cowboys fukked over Earl something crazy. His fall off started when he went to prison. Add that to the stress of having 9 kids with multiple women and crazy child support who got time to think about rappin? X was probably stressed out of his mind and did what he do best - Smoke Crack. On top of that Gotti wasn't fukkin with him no more due to him being jealous of Ja's success and Gotti was his homie from day 1. Add that to him gettin robbed for 40 million from one of the Def Jam accountants. This dudes life story is pretty sad and heartbreaking. Watch the industry give him fake love when hes gone tho talking about he was our Malcolm.

As yall can tell I'm a HUGE x fan but to keep it a buck he only got one classic and that's his debut album. What X got tho is MULTIPLE CLASSIC SONGS. No one got as much classic songs as X. Maybe Pac but that's probably it.

Y'all didn't fukk with The Great Depression? :why:
the great depression was solid
but his fall off lyrically was evident
first 3 albums he was flowing
he had his coke habit reletatively under control until he started making that movie money.
his attitude, lyrics, and demeanor changed drastically between album 3 and 4.

BECAUSE WE KNOW HE WAS ON CRACK.

Eminem was on drugs, Wayne was on drugs and on. We can take it back to the 60-70s, that was another level of jukieness.
A lot of rappers have issues and we talk about them.
It doesn't even have to be drugs, it can be other mental problems that fukks with your motivation and brain

So even among junkies, he got a pass
