i disagree with this 100%. for a people who have only been free since about 65, and i’m talking 1965 not 1865, we have made tremendous progress. espeically when you consider the crack epidemic, war on drugs, mass incarceration of the 90s, and all the other bullshyt we faced along the way. we as black people have survived and are thriving. is there still a lot of work to do yes. hell yes. but don’t let perfect be the enemy of good my brother. black people, despite every obstacle, are substantially ahead of where we should be considering the circumstances.

Yeah, but that's not winning. We're not winning. Getting killed by the cops is not winning. Getting ran out of our cities via gentrification is not winning. Getting paid less and arrested more and progressing slower and dying quicker is not winning. We've made strides, yes. I'm in a better spot now then my grandfather was when he was my age in the 60s, yes. But that's not enough. And until we're really on a level playing field, it won't be.

If you lay the foundation for a house to be built for you and your family to live in and somebody steals the land from you and builds a Walmart on top of it, you should be given credit for every Great Value cola, big screen TV, and graphic tee that gets sold there? For the fact that this is the number one topic in the NFL almost a quarter into the season and he has some of these owners "protesting" with their teams, he definitely won. That said, the victory don't mean shyt in the grand scheme of things. Not to diminish his impact, cause I definitely salute him for being about that life and risking his career and being unwavering while standing for some real shyt. But ain't shyt gonna change in this country regarding the plight of black people uless it's some type of revolution with violence. I don't know how feasible it is for that to work, but I do truly believe that it's our only real chance at equality. As a matter of fact, I don't even think equality would be achievable; we would need to crush white people and keep our foot onthey neck like they did us, cause they just not gonna let us be equal.

Yeah I feel your POV breh but jerry will wake up as an owner tomorrow while Kap STILL doesn't have a job. Imagine if a team where to sign him, they would get so much praise and merchandise sales for that team would go through the roof.

It would have to be somewhere with a strong owner, GM, and established locker room. I look it at from two perspectives, it wouldn't shock me if he's signed before next Sunday. You saw it today, the message going forward will be Kap started the dialogue and it will put the owners on the hot seat to back it up to give him an opportunity to continue employment in the NFL. People see through the owners BS. It also wouldn't shock me if he never plays a down in the NFL again.

Kap wanted to start the dialogue to bring awareness for change, and as long as the NFL, trump, the owners, and some bias members don't change that narrative then what he did is great on its own merit....
