i'm talking 1994/95 IPs. Sony didn't have the Sega catalog first party wise, arcade wise, nor indy support wise. and ummm EA put out games on the genesis. Sony asked developers to give them a shot with the higher polygons per second and triangle polygons instead of Sega quads. It was about about power for creating good 3D games and ease of development which was about the Console as opposed to the games.

MGS was 98. FF7 was 97 into 98.....

Indeed, but they built it up over the gen.

But it all goes back to Sega leadership being all over the place

So it is OK for Sony to price gouge to infinity because of that?? Sony got its gamers into a whole CULT, like Trump supporters, that can do anything that would flatline its competition if the competition did the same thing.

Even Nintendo knows better and they have handhelds on LOCK for decades. They welcome Steam Deck and other competition because it keeps them on their toes.
