Not been a fan of the front office lately but I do agree with how they handling the giddy deal. Let the market dictate the value.

Why vuc is not gone right now is a mystery to me ton of teams needed a big.

Another reason trading Caruso before the draft last year never made sense to me...



Had they waited, Topic would have been on board at 11 who was obviously a player OKC wanted. If the Bulls are at 11 without Giddey on their team, then OKC has to play ball if they want Caruso AND Topic. Any competent GM is able to finesse a future pick from OKC in this scenario.

But Presti knew that Chicago was not taking Topic with Giddey on their roster. They basically replaced him with a player with a very similar skillset on a rookie deal and Chicago now has to pay Giddey to keep him lol

I'm just highlighting the incompetence.

OKC knew that they wouldn't take him because they had already traded for Giddey before the draft



Last year the Bulls were definitely monitoring and tracking Topic in the draft. Multiple mock drafts had Topic as a guy that Chicago could draft... Especially after he tore his ACL and everyone knew he would slide down the board.

I'm not even tripping over not getting Topic tho. What I am disappointed in is how they didn't trade Caruso to Sacramento for the #13 pick

This isn't a rant. I just never understood why they made that trade when they did. They literally had ALL the leverage in this situation to squeeze OKC for draft capital.

1. They liked Topic at 11
2. They knew OKC wanted Caruso
3. They knew SAC was offering #13 for Caruso

Any competent GM is able to get more from OKC. If not, then ok, trade him to the Kings.

Our future would look a lot better with Matas and Ware or Topic right now. Here we are a year later having to pay Giddey and still don't have Vuc's successor. And can't even find him a new team

I have said even during the regular season that only the nets had the bread to get him a significant offer sheet. quetin grimes is still out here unsigned as well, but the sixers are gonna definitely bring him back.

I'd let him walk before ever offering this guy $30M a year. and it's not even like the bulls can offer him 2 years for $60M with a team option on the second year because these RFA contracts have to be at least 3 years.

I have a hard time believing they'll agree to 30M a year at this point. It's been days after FA started, if they spin the block again on negotiations and actually do give him that contract, they'll be clowned among NBA executive circles and in the media for sure.
