where does that article say anything about trade ins being less valuable, or the inability to loan/share games, or disconnect kinect?

Honestly, this is probably the case. I really don't think they thought Sony was gonna drop the 4 this year with the specs they had and it fukked up their plans big time.

and yes, technology that saves you having to get up and do something is usually embraced. I grew up having to change the channel on the TV with a pair of pliers

Look nobody saying it wouldn't be a cool feature, thought Xbox already had that one though , guess its even worse than I thought. Anyway, this is such a bad article. Of all the bad things MS was proposing inititally, this dude just glazes over talkin bout "oh cruel world why must I stand up to change discs, I already have to open my mouth and yell commands that don't work ."

you still have the option though if you buy the digi copy. You just have to understand the limitations of it resale wise and when trying to play if it's not the console/account it was locked to.

But if you buy the disc version, you know you gotta get up, but at least you have resale rights.

I didnt create the system! You do know that even if you install the game from the disc to the hdd, it still may be required to read it to start up right? that's the way the current 360 is built.

I have no dog in the fight, so I'm not afraid to say the fear of DRM throughout the internet was just plain ignorance, fear and just pure Microsoft hate. The system they were going to have was nothing but pure benefit to the users. I know old habits are hard to break and new things are scary, but people were just wrong on this one. When game systems or whatever iteration of playing games there is after this gen, people won't realize it until every future system is like that.
