Footwork don't mean shyt when you're getting wrecked all game long. Pocket presence evaporates when you got Dlineman in your kitchen for 4 full quarters. No QB is gonna look sane after a solid half of that.

True, I might be underestimating just how much pressure Cam faced from Denver's defenders. The Carolina offensive line was a sieve even when they outnumbered Denver's pass rusher. There is, however, a schematical way to negate a heavy pass rush and that is with quick passes. That said Brady tried the quick passing scheme and failed miserably in the Denver turnstyle. So maybe two things need to happen: Cam needs better receivers and a different coordinator. Chan Gailey would have won the Panthers this game.

Nobody is open and Von Miller is bearing down on him. What is Newton supposed to do in this situation:

its more than quick passes. you have to bait the defense aggressiveness and use it against them. any type of quick misdirection/screens work. a draw works. run options work if you see olbs overpursuing. now with von and ware who are arguably two most complete LBs in the league its easier said than done, but still. there are pressure beaters in playbooks for when blitz is starting to dominating.

the oline being really good in regular season fukked the panthers up too. cam was used to hold the ball too long, coudlnt afford that against this defense. panthers were overconfident in their game imo and when shyt went south they were lost and couldnt adjust at all.
once you start getting blitzed heavily and line starting to get dominated is the time you need to whip out the basics book and dink/dunk with misdirection and runs outside.

Shula ruined this game from the first possession with his playcalling and never set a threatened tone for the broncos d.
Then, when it made sense why he was so conservative to open up play action in the second half.
On some psychological textbook bullshyt, that shyt got shut down and he still never threatened to go deep after that one strike to that mental midget ginn.

Panthers need to get rid of that tom waddle receivers core and shula ASAP.

they lost the superbowl strictly off of shula not having any ferocity in his complacent conservative playcalling.
Imo, after watching saban take the chance of a lifetime on a onside kick just earlier this month.
Should have sent a signal to anyone in any sport.
That if you don't train this team to win by taking chances.
You are not going to win against an equally staffed team playing up.
The panthers were to complacent and conservative.
They never played up in offense and that was Riviera and shula's too cool for school lovie smith complacent shyt gone wrong on display.

How many designed run plays did they run for cam?

Shula goofball ass, was trying to show.
he was some offensive genius and never let cam go hog wild.
The entire game I was like where are the waggles to the Te, and the QB sneaks.
Shula junior is an idiot and real talk don shula ain't win shyt since before I was born in 73, 74.
So, why are we thinking his wack ass son is gonna win.

fukk, mike shula.
Plus he just made the NFC back into some bytches at the superbowl again, too.

I was saying in the game thread that Carolina should have had cam playing like vince young when he went up against USC.

Personally, I felt that is what the playcalling should have deteriorated to.
To keep playing conservative, and never use your strengths.
under duress is why the panthers lost.
Shula was to worried about his legacy being established as the guy who had the black pocket passing QB.
When, if shula was really trying to really win.
Just winning would have affirmed the shula son mythos.
That shula's play calling was trying to establish.
Yet, in this loss you can never trust shula to win a big game and imo, I would usher him out the NFL.

As, he has to much pedigree not to have known how to adjust and win against any and all odds.

Regardless of how ugly it got or how against the textbook grain he had to go to win.
Shula is a bum,....

If I owned the panthers.
Whomever put together the receivers core and hired shula is outta there, period.
Reactionary heads are rolling after this loss.
All.because the people calling the plays showed no urgency and people who are complacent about life in dire moments are always ineffective.
As they have no pop to deal with real time issues and offer real time winning strategies and execution that wins regardless of the situation

Do these offensive coordinators even look at game film of games where Broncos defense was getting eating alive

Kansas City and alex smith was ripping them apart... big ben was doing work

Both teams was running crossing routes and using the running backs in the passing game to offset the blitz..

Picking up 3 yards passing is better than minus 2 running

You gotta give props where them shyts due and the Broncos defense looked like they was on the rabies.
What I didnt understand (and im not the greatest football mind or anything) was why the Panthers had no typa hustle? No pep in their step, just not moving with a purpose. Cause it for damn sure wasnt like the game was a wash. Panther d did everything in their power to make sure Cam and co. could take a lead and eventually close these bytches out:mjcry:
Carolina's D was suffocating. Ealy was incredible. Seriously.

But that O... came out the tunnel dead in the water. Cam had the same face on as Peyton did against the Seahawks. Just a plain ol' defeated look.

Breeeeeeeh. I was about to throw one of my kids at the TV when he kept calling those first down runs behind Trai. I thought he'd at least call play action that way. Plus Shula decided not to throw any screens or run hurry-up/no huddle for some reason. Said it during the preseason thread, Killa cooks in the hurry up. He's a rythm passer. He did it all season, then we abandon it in the damn SB:why:wtf!

Plus Jerricho dropped the tough passes he usually catches, Ginn went Ginn, they took Greg out completely and Philly got concussed on his best catch of the season. Also, im convinced J Stew was hurt, he was cutting slow as hell after he got rolled up early on. Still i aint mad at Cam, my nikka did what he could.:to:

Von Miller got a visit from Deacon Jones' ghost and sonned us.:manny: Is what it is brehs.
Live and learn, we'll be bike tho

No disrespect or anything... but the bolded cracked me up.
