website designer recommendations/referrals

Just as the title asks. One thing I realized is that 99% of people claiming to be designers end up creating the same site just in different color schemes. I have a sense of the type of style I am looking for and can give examples/inspirations.

The business is a consulting firm; I lean towards the clean/simple; monochromatic with accents as opposed to bright and in your face. No videos, no need for payment systems. I'm thinking between appx 6-8 pages total. Appx 5 pages explaining the services offered, a page for relevant articles etc and not sure about the other 2 yet.

this is a good site and i was going to use this but i didn't understand how to edit and install the themes properly so i just tweaked a normal shopify theme

they look the same because they are using the same or similar templates. Which itself is not entirely bad because it allows them to charge you less and make it quicker.

I've made a few different versions of my website using templates and customizing them to my liking. I highly reccomend it. It takes care of most of the heavy work. You still have to do a lot but no where near as much as you would if you started from scratch.

do you have to write the code yourself? Or is it just changing parts of the template i.e. pics, text, slideshow, page content etc..?

I used a standard shopify theme for my newest shopify page: Organic Power Superfoods
I used the launchkit variant landing page to make this one: Organic Power Concentrated SuperFoods

No I don't write a lot of code. I do on occasion depending the situation but with a theme coding is reduced and sometimes not necessary at all. There's till a ton of back end work but with time and imagination you can take a template and make it look incredible
