For those of you who thought you'd never see a Carter VI, its now looking like a real possibility-- though it won't be Lil Wayne on the mic. According to Young Thug-- who has continuously cited Wayne as his sole influence --his next project will be titled Carter VI.
“I just feel like I’m that big,” said Thug, speaking to DJ Whoo Kid on the title. “Cause he feel like after Tha Carter V he ain’t gonna make no more music. Cause he feel like can’t nobody make music like that,” explained the rapper, alluding to the fact that he took Wayne's claim as a challenge. "I'm going straight at his ass".
If it turns into Wayne VS CMR
I believe most people will side with Wayne.
The fukked up thing is after all this Wayne will probably end up broke[/QUOTE
i really hope not.
the priceless moments of 1999 riding thru the park sipping on Colt45 Double Malts, picking up young scallywags
Real shyt.
Now he's more hands off and that approach forces a nikka to come into his own instead of being a highly compensated employee (Wayne). Eventhough Kanye was once Jay's artist, today he can stand next to Jay as an peer and it doesn't look weird, while Lil Wayne is 33 years old and still has to ask Birdman when the check coming
Id still have to watch Shawn and his slimy ways
but, I'm sure you could pick up alot of game from Hov about the industry, and as seen with Kanye, he's okay with you growing into your own. A nikka like Birdman would never ever ever do that. He'll never try to give Wayne that guidance because if Wayne became too smart, he'll start asking himself why he needs Birdman.
.Its crazy how spitta done moved on and just in a whole different lane compared to the cssh money days![]()
Hopefully these guys can actually drop a tape together again
