My Pops Forever RIP
I don't think people care either way. :yeshrug:

This plot to cancel MJ didn't work. I don't think Weird Al even did this because he believes the allegations, he's just worried that people are going to scream at him to stop playing the parodies when that's not the case.

It's like when The Simpsons took "Stark Raving Dad" out of circulation. No one was asking for that and they ended up making the episode more important by trying to get rid of it.
If you're a Weird Al fan and you go to his show only to yell at him if he performs any of the MJ stuff, why even go?

Some people are being way too careful but that's because they see what happens to those who double down.

What I don't like is that people may not even think that MJ was guilty of the lies spread about him (which clearly he wasn't), but it seems that celebrities and companies are distancing themselves from him as to not offend people.

Them trying to make MJ the face of child sexual abuse is my issue. The media is most certainly omitting anyone speaking the truth on purpose. There's big money in making MJ out to be a monster.

I don't know my read of that quote is that it makes Weird Al pretty upset to shelf the songs and he sounds skeptical about the documentary.

He specifically says he doesn't know if it's permanent and he doesn't say anything negative about MJ he says "we [not I] don't want people to feel uncomfortable" which sounds to me like he just doesn't want to deal with the fukking backlash. Which, while I understand many posters might be willing to give up the latter part of their career to fight against the slander towards a dead man, I don't know if we as fans can demand that Weird Al do that.

Maybe I'm just :cape:

Basically he isn't playing MJ parodies because the public is too stupid to research what is really going on here. I honestly can't be mad at him either.

The people I don't fukk with are the ones that saw a documentary and just automatically "MJ did it because the "victims" told the same exact story, and we should believe all victims." Or, the ones that say " I use to be a fan until I saw the documentary, now I'm cancelling MJ"

I can't even be mad at someone trying to just avoid all this cancel culture bullshyt tbh
Mike is cancel proof though..

Too many white people still worship him..

That said..AL isn't cancel proof..so I could see people whining about him playing those MJ covers..it's easier to start an effective witchhunt against Weird AL
