pickle barrel? swiss chalet? come on brehs. you don't wanna come to the city just to eat at weak-ass chain restaurants.
it's probably gonna be hard to get a reservation at a really nice place but there are plenty great spots you could walk in and score a table or grab some food while you're having drinks...plus they're not exactly super fancy or expensive. lisa marie, queen street warehouse, buca, parts and labour, 416 snack bar, smoke and bones, weslodge, come and get it, the stockyards, bar isabel, etc. tons of places.
there's a lot of good spots in kensington market too. plus check out st. lawrence market during the day (all kinds of good food stands).

just got back from there. Saw demare carroll, anthony davis, steve nash, alex english, mo peterson, alvin williams, john wallace...
also met and spoke with joe carter and thanked him for all that he did for the city.
