LeBron is taking those short deals because he's waiting for the TV deal to kick in so he can sign a 5 year max

And also to put pressure on them to bring in talent. H would've done the same thing in miami

ATL…overly
Get your money like melo but dont be crying in 3 years when the team isbin the shytter and your not winning. Davis had a chance to sign a shorter deal and make demps sweat. He gonna get paid regardless

Nothing in this life, or the NBA, is promised. Get your money now and worry about the rest of that shyt later

it's pretty simple if you put about 5 seconds of thought into it.

NFL Active Roster Size = 53
NBA Active Roster Size = 13

I did put simple thought into it, the amount of money nfl makes, makes the roster size irrelevant. Especially when it's not like players #15-53 need to be paid equally.

This is the perfect week for AD to make a move on his platonic friend Lolo Jones.

Agents job is to get the most money for their client.

I'm just speaking from a perspective of trying to stay competitive. He should look at what Lebron is doing, 1 or 2 year deals with opt out clauses forcing the organization to make moves to acquire more talent. If you goal is winning then it makes sense. If not, ok then.
that would be an absolutely terrible idea for a 22 year old franchise player. he's a phenom who's nowhere near his ceiling, he doesn't have to hold the organization hostage because people are going to be lined up to play with him over the course of the next few years.

plus this is his rookie contract extension, he doesn't have a player option - the organization has the option. you would have been fired if you were his agent.
