I never said (nor do i believe) anyone had to do identical numbers.
But when, you're doing 14% of your clique's average around the same time then you're flopping.
They flopped.
I guess crossover to you means cac. WHAT I MEAN is the only people there are R&B singers and the rappers whom had either already crossed over OR were trying to with their singles.
There werent a list of hardcore rappers bringing hardcore music there.
they did the numbers they were supposed to do. what makes you think they were gonna sell 4-7 mil when they werent promoted to sell half of that? smarten up.
no. that list of people that performed on "all that" is exactly what i said it was. 95% of the artists on that list for the 1st 4 seasons were artists with hit records on urban radio/video/charts. like i said, its not any different from 106th & park. if 106th was out back then, most of them wouldve performed on there.
hell, "all that" even had groups like THE TWINZ performing on there. i guess they were a pop group too right? and i guess they wer a huge flop since they were signed to warren g & def jam but didnt put up regulater numbers, right.
and for the record, i'll answer one of your silly questions. yes, i watched nickelodeon and i still check it out to this day. but i havnt been a ROUTINE watcher of the channel outside of a select show here-n-there since like '91-92. after that, my lil cousin was the one with the bug. i was more of a sports, music & wrestling kid. but you dont have to be a routine watcher of something to have awareness.
See i hear you but all you did was make my stance more solid. This is a privilege they had for being where they were, under whom they were under. They cant have this and be acknowledged as underground artists "that were meant for the street" when they were given pop circumstances. WHY? because there are REAL underground nikkas whom werent in the same boat as the lox, nikkas whom really had to get it out the mud. Really had to rely on word of mouth and very slight commercial visibility. That had to really rely on the sound of their music alone. The lox were given major major help. Despite this, their performance was lack luster.
nobody said they were underground. i dont know why you keep saying that.
they just werent geared for the mainstream, and didnt even attempt it. the bad boy album was mainstream and it did what it was supposed to do. jada albums were aimed towards mainstream success and they did alright. everything else was str8 gutta. and they still sold well and did what they were supposed to do despite the fact that their fanbase doesnt buy records. literally everybody and their moms had their chit either booted or dubbed. you wouldnt understand, and you never will. and thats always your problem. you lack perspective
