I've seen kanye, jay-z kendrick and nas perform. out of all them nas was the WORST. sound quality was utter :trash:

then again, I saw kanye jay-z and kendrick all perform at the united center which has PHENOMENAL sound. nas was at the congress theatre here, and maybe the sound is bad there. I saw the roots and common perform at the same place I saw nas at years ago and their sound was :trash: as well.
I've seen both the Roots and Nas perform and both of their shows were GREAT!

Same here. Dudes performed NIP 12 times in a row at the end, and had that bytch rocking, with everybody singing along each time.

cosign this as well. I went to both the WTT tour and the Yeezus tour. both at the united center, and both were phenomenal. the jay-z/kanye set the bar really high for what I expect to see in a rap concert.

having a legit flare for performance seems to escape most of these young dudes. How are some old nikkas like Redman and Method Man gonna have twice the energy, breath control, and memory of their own lyrics than these young dudes who are still in their late 20s

Of course, cuz he garb-o.

I don't see why Jay-Z gets credited as a good performer. I just think most credit him based on the production. A Jay-Z show has alot of production money (where the stage, sound and everything can sound better). But he himself isn't that good as a performer IMO. He doesn't really do shyt. Then him being a pop icon basically nowadays of course cats are gonna rock with it, cuz he world famous. Same with Dr. Dre really. He
always has a huge production behind it. Of course production is a part of it, but it's unfair to say they're the best when they all don't have the same budgets.

Hard Knock Life tour? Not so much. That was he still was fresh out and had most people rocking with Meth + Red, X & them way more. So..
Now of course he said he improved since then which i understand but i still don't see it. Same with Kanye really, but more-so with Jay-Z.

Like i said i think y'all really goofed by the production being so large.

Now Busta Rhymes is one of the greatest performers. Don't matter if it's on a award show, club appearance, tour etc - to me THAT'S being great live & being a great performer.
Same with Method Man & Redman too. They been energetic, live, does their duo thing in a very special way where they mix in stuff to deliver their lyrics.

X? Same, even tho of course the drugs & alcohol has taken a toll. 2pac was another one. Public Enemy. Roots. Cypress Hill. DJ Quik. Ice Cube. Xzibit. KRS. Kane. A few others too.

You went in Chicago... I KNOW it was lit. Not too many people from the South rock with Jigga or Ye' like that, so the concert I attended was only hip-hop heads and cacs.

ETA: Hope ur not a cac. If so, sorry, but fukkk ya

I was at the Hard Knock Life show....Jay is good but having him come on after Red/Meth and DMX just wasnt even fair to him.
