the distortion sounds like shyt too, it doesn't do the tone or sound of his voice any benefits. he's usin' the distortion as a crutch (because it's evident some people don't care how shyt sounds so long as it's over a catchy beat) which in turn is a gimmick that some people who have no idea what good or great music is buy into

It depends on the engineer and the performer how good it sounds live. Future and his live engineer are complete trash.

This soesn't suprise me at all, a lot of these rappers think it's called a performance if they just do ad-libs or rap a long with their records, I always thought it was just club rappers but I've also seen the Underachievers and even Pete Rock and CL Smooth do it (however now I think back it might have just been Pete Rock who was rocking over his own vocals) and most of the time the crowd just eats it up like it's the greatest thing ever. Now these were festival shows so maybe they try harder at an actual concert but
World's Fair were pathetic also (don't even really like them, but since they were there I thought to check them out) they did like a 45 minute show which consisted of: 15 minutes of the DJ playing hits by other people, 10 minute performance, telling the crowd to sit down and rock out with them on Limp Bizkits Break Stuff () like 5 - 10 minutes performance, then back to the dj but now with the entire crew dancing to other people's music on stage next to him.
If I'm gonna see a rapper, I want to hear them spit
