Can't even really say he's in the Kanye lane because Kanye has produced beats. Drake can't rap, can't sing, doesn't produce, doesn't play an instrument....he brings virtually nothing to the table but people support anyway off brand recognition. Apple is a perfect fit for him.

Fred.

Nicca said all of Drake success is based on "brand recognition". This is why you're a rap message board moderator breh :dead:

"I know a nikka named Johnny Bling" is the boring monotone part of the song, of course you wrote it. The Hook and the first singy rapping part of the song is what makes it, that's kind of the point. Listening to the project you could hear a huge shift in Drake's delivery and then again a shift back to the corny more basic and more monotone Drake that makes it obvious what you are when left to your own devices as a rapper.
you nikkas would lie to yourselves and the world over some drake hate. despicable.
:mjlol:

Its the hype part that makes that song hot.

Drake: "I wanted a song strictly for Toronto, I was so jealous of Wiz with 'black and yellow'".
A song for Toronto written by an AFRICAN AMERICAN from Atlanta...who has probably experienced racism at home...and would experience racism in Toronto.

It doesn't matter how many writers Kanye West, a producer, has or had. People knew Rhymefest wrote Jesus Walks, they never looked at Kanye like a "bars" rapper nor like they would a Hov...He's Kanye. Drake tried to put himself in that real rapper category, having people write "bars" verses.

He is in that real rapper convo that's why he has managed to work with and gain compliments from so many hip hop legends

Nas (top 5 shout out), Jay Z (here's how they come at you.. passing the torch), Andre 3k collab, Ghostface (favourite new MC), Bun B (collab), ... long list I could go on.

Lol. It means something to Kanye because he knows the worth of Drake's brand and how impressionable fans will react to that.

You see how you twist what you want to be he truth as fact for your own agenda. That's called being a hater :russ:

You just can't stomach anything that puts drake in a good light. It's hilarity

Read your first reply to me. That's the definition of spinning to fit your narrative.

Your comment overall is spot on. "I know a nikka named Johnny Bling" part is not boring, but it is more monotone and less 'swagged out' than the parts you mentioned. The parts you mentioned over that beat make the song fire.

That's why it's weird to me when people pretend like IYRTITL isn't Drake's best work. It's a very different Drake than what we've seen previously. It's that "Started From The Bottom"/"0 to 100" Drake

stop lying! :laff:

Kanye fans absolutely pretended like Kanye had super dope/witty bars and no one knew Rhymefest wrote that shyt until years later.

Nas shout out was a few weeks ago. Here's where you say "he's just saying that for politics" lol

All his debating is futile. If you hate Drake you will block out any info which adds to his credit
