I never thought I’d ever see a player like Wemby. Growing up watching a 6’9 PG was amazing. And he mostly dribbled with his back to the basket with one hand. Wemby is like 7’4 7’5

meh. the spurs aren't even close to having a good team around wemby. disappointing when you realize they picked multiple lottery guys since 2019 (the last time they made the playoffs) and multiple mid to late first rounders. If Chris Paul doesnt come back, it's pretty much the same 22-win team it was before he got there. No one on the Spurs has really "developed", and some of these guys have been on that roster 4-5 years.
So it's not really about "time". The issue is the players and player development staff and GM are way behind the 8-ball when it comes development and roster construction.
How many more seasons before they realize Keldon should be gone (he should've been gone years ago, when he was scoring 20ppg and the team was awful)? How many more seasons before they realize Tre Jones is a barely passable point guard? How many more seasons before they realize that Zach Collins shouldn't be in an NBA jersey at all (they even paid him $35 million) and should have been dropped? Same with Charles Bassey and Sandro Mamukelashvili. How many more seasons until they realize Devin Vassell isn't a devin booker type and shouldn't have been developed as one (again, they paid him $146 million)? Why did they need to develop Jeremy Sochan as a "draymond green-type" when he had no propensity to pass the ball or shoot in college and 3 seasons into his NBA career?
There are a TON of questions that relate to the development (or lack thereof) when it comes to the Spurs. It takes time, but i'm not so sure they really have it, because quiet as its kept, they've wasted a ton of time both before and after drafting Victor

maybe. It seems like Minnesota blew it by trading for Randle and killing all the progress they made last season.
