I only see my maternal grandmother once a year cuz she lives in DR. I talk to her like twice a week over the phone and facetime. I saw my mother's biological father in December after not seeing him for like 8 years. My mother's step father (the man that raised her) died in 07
my paternal grandmother lives with my parents so I see her almost everyday. She's a fukking G too, she's always dropping jewels on me, we go sneaker shopping together, and she's stood up for me my entire life. I lived with her in DR for almost 4 years when I was really young so she's like my 3rd parent

Dad's Mama died years before I was born. Legend has it that's the only time anyone has ever seen him cry.
Dad's Daddy was in very poor health and had Alzheimer's since I was a boy. He could barely talk,
so we never really had any conversations.
Ma's Mama is the only grandparent I still have alive, and she cool. For the most part, she just
checks up to see if i'm healthy. I get it - she has like 40 grandkids. Her bake game is SICK, doe.

We even moved out of the main house and had our own for a few years when I was in high school. I could go on forever telling stories about him. Lost him almost 3 years ago and it hurts every day
I'm close to both sides though one set is dead and gone now. And my grandfather on the other side is dead. So I only have one living grandparent left
I'll go past just grandparents I'm close to all my uncles/aunts and cousins. My father's side lived 45 minutes away and we saw them all the time. And my moms side was even closer so I saw them every week on Sundays when we would all go over to my grandparents.
Absolutely none of my first or second cousins on either side are strangers to me. I know some people grow up hardly seeing family and their only connection to extended family is blood.
Even though we've spread out through the years I still see most everybody 1-2 times a year

Know both sets of grandmother's and my grandfather on my dad's side. I also know my greatgrandmother and greatgrandfather (who passed away a few years ago) on my mom's side. Went to visit them in Jamaica in April. Fun fact is my grandmother on my dad's side is older than my greatgrandparents.
