I had a random thought that Brunson's game, particularly in the postseason, reminds me of Brandon Roy's short run. He was a good, underappreciated player until he went to another level in the postseason. His game was kinda like death by a thousand cuts too...he could beat you off the dribble, but if you took it away, he'd playmake or get into a shooting rhythm.

To be fair though, Roy's run was really short and never got a chance to peak like we're seeing with Brunson. But it's the "this guy will find a way to put his team in winning position" vibe with 'em both.
You know that is a great comp for the shooting. His handle/foot work/body control is elite he can get anywhere in the half court. He leans into shots to get foul calls If he knows the defender is over committing, and he isn’t selfish.

Like it’s Roy’s shooting, Isiah Thomas from the pistons handle/footwork, and Tony Parks foul baiting an/leaning floaters. And then you add in that he plays in control and is clutch every game. He’s a top 3 pg right now but he isn’t an elite athlete.

It’s like he is a build a player for small guards who aren’t superfast.

I was thinking during the Piston series, Cade Cunningham AKA the Black Ryan Gosling reminded me of a young B-Roy. Both play at their own pace & are never rushed, can play make, & can get you in the mid range. If Cade can reach that status, he'll be a helluva player

Brandon Roy...injuries robbed us of seeing something great :mjcry:

Don’t want to be negative when the Knicks are shockingly up 2-0 and I’m fired up about it and I’m someone who gives Thibs credit for being a good coach.

But he needs to call some timeout earlier when it’s obvious the Celtics are going on one of the runs that’s gonna end up with the Knicks down double digits in a blink of an eye.

Or maybe not maybe just keep going the way you’ve been going . It’s worked lol
