When an Islam connection was confirmed, I had to be revived with smelling salts. :roger:

I don't know why...but it doesn't feel like they were true terrorist Islamic fundamentalist, at least to me it doesn't seem like it. I think they were foreign kids who just couldn't take the fact they couldn't fit in. So they found Islam and decided to try and prove they would be down for the cause. Wanna-Be's.

Couple things wrong here with your comment:

'it doesn't feel like they were true terrorist Islamic fundamentalist...'

#1- The boys weren't 'terrorists' but rather Americans. And, no it doesn't matter whether one brother didn't have his citizenship or not. He was still an American who was living in the country for several years.

I think they were foreign kids who just couldn't take the fact they couldn't fit in.

#2 . Wrong. Both brothers were very popular. The older one had a bunch of friends and the younger was a popular college kid who went to all the campus parties, sagged his pants, smoked weed and talked in slang. Furthermore, when reporters were looking for friends or family relatives to interview on tv all his friends were immediately lining up to talk to reporters. Some were even shown on tv crying and describing him as an 'all american boy', 'an angel', 'a very popular student on campus', 'who didn't show any anti-social behavior' etc.

'So they found Islam and decided to try and prove they would be down for the cause. Wanna-Be's.'

Wrong, wrong, wrong. How could they suddenly 'find Islam' when they were born into the religion? Chechnya is a Muslim country. :heh:

All in all, quit taking your info from the media. They're biased and obviously trying to paint a different picture of the suspects.

:why: So much information out there! What can you believe!?!? Where are you getting your info? That's the first I have heard that the older brother was popular, I'm usually hearing that the older brother was a punk who couldn't take a punch in boxing. I personally believe their uncle. He said this wasn't religious and it had nothing to do with Islam....they were just losers.

Well, I've watched several news stations where reporters interviewed a bunch of people who were his (Tamerlane's) friends. There was one guy who was his boxing partner who said how the bother was a good boxer and that he never saw any signs or any 'anti-social behavior'. Also, the news station showed a video of him in the ring with said guy.

As for your last statement, I think we can agree on that. Islam had absolutely nothing to do with this case. Only ignorant people will tell you that it does. Honestly, the only play that Islam has in this situation is that the brothers just so happened to be Muslims. :manny: As for the uncle Ruslane's statement about the boy's being 'losers' he meant that as in if they actually did the bombings that yes they are losers. But, if we are talking about their life accomplishments thus far in my personal opinion I don't think they were losers. If I'm not mistaken the younger bother (Jahar) was a pre-med student who was well on his way to becoming a doctor. :obama: And, the older brother had a job and a wife/a child.

Loser mentality. On the way to being a doctor but decides to become a terrorist instead? The shyt makes no sense at all...or maybe they were part of a sleeper cell and were just playing these roles until it was time to act....:ohhh:

Religion would mean a lot more than a good job to an ambitious terrorist. Esp. one being supposedly dragged along by his brother.

Gang violence...
when the suspects of the boston bombing were unkown, i thought it was maybe 60% likely domestic cacs pissed about gun control and the "illegal tyranical negro gubmint", 35% likely muslims, and maybe 5% for some marginal interest i never heard of before, kinda like the unibomber or simbianese liberation army.

i leaned more heavily on it being an ultra right wing attack because of the significance of the time and place. a quasi national holiday in one of the most historically significant cities in america. the symbolism kinda screamed "tea party on steroids"

The way the economy has been going...maybe...but to be hunted down like a dog and being found hiding in a boat after your brother has been shot to hell? I think being a doctor is just a better opinion.
