What a b&tch of a question, it's horrible to choose.

They both iconic, I grew up on both of them.

I'm not mad at any choice, but I gotta give it to PAC, just.

Salute to both god mcs

Love Cube, but I gotta go with Pac.

On purely some 1..2...3 rapping shyt, Cube.

As far as overall versatility and song writing, Pac

Although Cube came in the game on that Sociopolitical shyt slightly ahead of Pac, I think Pac had a stronger pedigree for it.He's from a family of pro black activist and revolutionaries. That shyt was deep down in his bone marrow..his DNA.

Cube was basically the west coast version of a 5% nikka with a gangsta twist.Hung with a few Fruit Of Islam nikkaz late in life, got some knowledge, and transferred that shyt over into his raps like a lot of nikkaz was doing back then. But he kept that NWA mentality and laced it with that.Gave him a dope style to run with.

Even then, I think Pac had a more intimate, deeper knowledge of that "style".Growing up with access to a minds like Mutulu Shakur, His Moms, and Geronimo Pratt, the shyt was more intrinsic with him.He didn't have to read it out of a book...nikka saw it play out live.He was entrenched in that shyt since he was a embryo.

It's hard for me to pick.....like I said, Cube is dope as hell......Pac was one of a kind, though.Gotta roll with Pac on this one:yeshrug:

The Ghetto of Oz
u a idiot besides pac having the larger catalog and being a better lyricist

cube did'nt have no where near the range that pac had
in terms content and flows has cube ever rap in double time flow ? no

has pac quality deep songs political songs club songs street songs
introspective songs no cube did not do all that pac did all that and better.

Ehhhh...

I get where you're going with this but most of the people on this board don't really remember either one well enough to judge this

I mean the first time I heard cube I was a serious youngin and I'm older than most here

We talking like 89-94ish

When cube was in his prime

I think the real difference is people got to see Cubes decline and didn't for 2pac cause he died

Amerikkkas most wanted and especially Death Certificate

Have to be up there with best hip hop albums ever

And when you factor in how hip hop changed after NWA (which without Ice Cube doesn't mean shyt)

You have to say they're about even

We have to stop comparing rappers and athletes like

This guy is 1)
And that guy is 2)

Cause we will never have enough information to make a fair judgment.. Rap isn't over we haven't heard every rapper that will ever be

It's more fair to say there is an Elite level that some people reach and there are a handful of people on that elite list

As much as I love Cube Pac has the more awe inspiring songs but...I refuse to choose and this is whats wrong with most of this clown generation. Always got to turn shyt into some kind of pissing contest with the <<<>>>> bullshyt. Just enjoy the music for what it is and stop trying to rank everything. Spend so much time arguing nikkas forget all about the actual music. Both them nikkas are legends and made some of the best rap music ever. Leave it at that.

just for the record i was born in 89 im turning 24 on july 10

and plus i had a older brother who was a hip hop fan who taught me everything i know about rap

like i said i respect cube because as a mc he laid the foundation for pac

but pac took it way further then cube i mean cube as far as his solo career only had a two hot albums run amw and death certificate

pac had 5 classic albums imo

2pacalypse now
strictly 4 my nikkaz
me against the world
all eyez on me
and killuminati the 7 day theory

by the time pac signed to death row

cube was already burned out

and pac did'nt seem like he was going fall off do to him dropping all eyez on me and then getting ready to drop his classic album the 7 day theory album.

I refuse to choose between these two.

Both of them dropped gems
Both of them have classic albums

You can't go wrong with either choice :win:

cube and pac are both greats like put it this way if somebody chose cube over pac i would'nt be mad because cube is a icon from nwa
and he laid foundation for pac.

Cube and pac>>>>>>>> any east coast artist

slow down... Nas is and always will be the East Coast ICE CUBE.
ICE CUBE - WEST COAST HOOD REPORTER
NAS - EAST COAST HOOD REPORTER

neither rapper did a lot of talking about themselves as super street thugs. most of their talk was based on what they SAW, nuccas they knew and things they heard. both were intelligent dudes who knew how to pick up a book or magazine that wasnt just sports. lol. and you heard it in their raps.

STREET REPORTERS. if something went down crazy in new yawk, nas was going to tell you about it. if something crazy happened out west, best believe CUBE was on detail and had a song cooking on the stove.

if you needed to know what to wear, where to go, what time and when not to go there, where the chicks at, where to eat out west. Pick up an ICE CUBE Album.

if you needed to know what type of coat to wear, which train to hop on, what Burrough to walk thru in the day time only, and where the chicks at in New York... Ask Nas.

and you just proved my point. you're to young to know. even if you had an older bro. you were put up on stuff. i'm glad for you that you were exposed to the greatness of pacs early stuff. but lets be clear.

those first 2 albums you named WERE in now way CLASSICS, unless you're talking local bay area classics only. cause on one else felt that way about those albums. i've been riding with pac since he was a DU dancer. but i know for a fact those albums were not considered classics. stop with the over exaggerating .

his first classic album was the dear mama, shed so many tears album. EVERYONE knows this. that made people that slept on him for years, go back to the first 2 albums and take a peek, even then they wasnt up on those two albums like that yet. he then had to have all the controversial stuff going on in his life then to Da Row with dre, snoop and crew. and we know how he blew from there. it was like a 2nd explosion. then maka dropped, and he was murdered.

maka was his best album for some because he died and it was a crazy album to go out with. from the title to the mood of the album. on top of that if you were grown enough to get it, and you were blazin daily. that was a smokers Album for real. but the truth is, his best album without cheating with the 2 cd's. was probably that Me against the world, album. that album was right thru and thru.

then 2nd would be all eyez on me, since he had songs that covered everything. but it took 2 albums to pull it off. maka is a very close 3rd. and this is just a pure honest opinion. and those talking about they thought pac would'v kept blowing up are not being realistic. the reason the youngins like yourself are so into pac now is because the way he went out. he went out like a street nucca. wilding out, then getting shot up. and leaving us a gem of an album. all those makaveli 2, 3 4, 10, etc. crap they were pushing was not that great. it was just us fans wanting to hear anything pac. we didnt care what it sounded like. if pacs voice was on it. it was gold for us. but those albums were not HOT..Period.

what probably would've happened is we would've grown board with pac saying "THUG LIIIIFE" and saying the same thing about how thugs cant get any love and how they need love to(more or less). " this is for my THUG nuccas,, strictly for my Thug nuccas"
how many times , albums could you stand him saying those same lines in that same cadence before even you as a fan started to realize "its old now?" without him dying thats what would have happened. and no pac would not have reinvented himself. he wasnt that type of artist. he was who he was, wild and crazy rapper pac with a lot of sense to boot and jail bird/drug addicted, b panthers for parents.

you could separate AEOM and have 2 classics. he didnt NEED to do anything. Cube was my idol prior to pac. But pac would destroy him. Pac had too many styles that he played too well. cube could not compete. lyrically in his prime, they could match. but stylistically and and as far as diversity, cube cant match pac at all.
