I know this is from last season, but can we talk about this?

Victor Oladipo looks so much better in Indy now. A lot of his problems last season were on him, but still.

Enes Kanter looks like an asset with the Knicks now as well.

Sabonis looks like a solid NBA player in Indy as well.

I know I asked this last year, but was Westbrook really playing with "garbage" or was he making them look garbage?

That's Lebron ball for ya... good for individual stats but turns good players into role players and role players into scrubs/spot up shooters

at least Lebron is great enough that he can elevate his team to competing in NBA finals.

I don't think Russ has that ability.

Well said.

People love being extreme one way or the other with their opinions. Russ can be incredibly talented and the reason his team is as good as it is, while also being a detriment at times. OKCs been trash in the 4th quarter for 5+ years despite the roster continually changing.

Forget about usage, Donovan put him out there all year down the stretch of games with four defenders and placed the burden of making offense happen solely on his shoulders. Of course he's gonna take a shyt ton of shots. The issue in the 4th is making bonehead decisions and taking goofball shots, like he did through out this series and has throughout his career. That's been a constant no matter how the roster around him looks, and that's the :youngsabo: bullshyt that's never gonna change.

The problem with Westbrook's play this season is it's basically a caricature of his play last season. Yes, he did play for box score stats unnecessarily at times, but his play was still putting his team in a great position of winning (top-5 in impact, it would've been even better had he not actively tried to average a triple-double). He hasn't been doing that this season; all those bad habits he developed last year are pronounced more than ever - not sticking to his defensive assignments and hunting for rebounds, assist-hunting, and playing in accordance to getting a triple-double. It's as if he's not playing basketball anymore, but trying to play the box score.

Having a team to himself was literally the WORST thing for his game. It gave him free rein to do whatever the fukk he wanted, and what's worse is the coaching staff and the players enabled him to chase a false historic milestone which has not only come at the detriment of his own game, but the team around him.

This shyt was in action last year, and what the basketball public failed to realize is that cheering on Westbrook to average a triple-double over a season, they were actually cheering his game to its demise.

Oh, he definitely does (talent/ability wise), except LeBron's BBIQ is just on another level, which is why he's able to get away with a similar style of play and Westbrook can't.

When Durant was still on OKC, they used to call him WestBrick. Now he's an MVP but I think it was more stats driven than team success, like a deep playoff run.

Then he doesn't have the ability.

Lebron is also 6'8"
Or perhaps I should say IQ in general. Not on some mjpls shyt either.

LeBron is shrewd and calculated with how he manages his effort, where he can use all his energy on offense and pick his spots (at times, cherry-picking or not in the rhythm of the team's offense) to fill up the box score in a seemingly smooth, efficient manner (whereas Westbrook is more abrupt and blunt) and folks fall into the falsehood of thinking he's had a great game, because his bare minimum effort on defense is not so easily identifiable through stats.

Plus, LeBron can "elevate" his teams into the Finals because he plays in a weaker conference, with support casts that actually support him on offense.

I can't even defend Westbrook right now. The dude is playing like a selfish idiot with low BBALL IQ. I don't like the fact made a bytch move going to GS, but I don't blame him for leaving Westbrook. He realized Westbrook doesn't have good habits for a deep playoff run because of his abysmal decision making and dumbass pull up 3s (you are not Curry breh).
