Ah shyt I get quoted by Gil..god damn it

I don't think Curry is an underrated defender...he isn't an elite defender, he isn't terrible either. I think if any elite point guard came into a game against GSW with the idea that he was getting covered by mainly Curry, that'd probably massively change their style of play. He'd most likely be food. I also have to say that that GSW clogs the paint up very quickly, so I gotta give Curry that as an advantage.

Essentially, Curry fits the system he's in very well. If he was in a situation like Kyrie, he'd probably be considered almost as bad on that end, dude plays with just about the same mentality with slightly better ball IQ and lateral foot movement.

Yeah, mos def no context. But I see it like this, HE HAS HAD TO DEFEND HIM ON AT LEAST 10 ISOLATIONS/CLEAR OUTS, the video @Gil Scott-Heroin posted shows a few of them, ALL of those were well defended.

What's crazy though.................. IS HE GETTING HID ON D OR IS HE GETTING TORCHED??????? There are a bunch of nikkas who flip flop between the 2 like a MG. Steph is far from a bad defender, and he controls (points out) switches and directs the D, not Draymond.

Another thing that has me :patrice:................. WHY IS RUSS NOT CRITICIZED FOR NOT EVER DEFENDING HIS MATCH UP. Like, even on switches, Russ guards the worse man every single game. From a coaching stand point, its cool, but nikkas can't talk all this bullshyt about Steph and go and praise Westbrook. That's fukk shyt imo.

He been guarding curry this entire series... Nikka

Someone can't count properly. If you're going to nitpick the shots, take the ones he actually defends. :skip:

Here's the thing, Westbrook blows by EVERYBODY - Curry has been the only player in this series who's at least stayed in front of him most of the time, especially considering how many times he gets screened. I love it how you left out the first shot he defended and jumped straight to the second shot to highlight that he didn't have anything to do with Westbrook missing that 3.

:pachaha:

I counted fine, he was blocked by Klay, not Curry. :mjpls:

Did you want me to compliment every shot he defended properly? I ignored the first shot because he went full on for contact and trying to draw the foul and failed. It was defended well, but Westbrook was trying to draw a foul. I could also contend Curry got away with quite a bit of contact when stopping Westbrook from blowing by him, shyt that was getting called on the other end.

He actually hasn't. Curry has seen multiple defenders when OKC switches and traps - Roberson, KD, Adams, Kanter, Ibaka, Waters - I don't think you dudes really know what you're talking about.

:heh:

Because OKC switches everything

Maybe if Curry could score of isolation there would not be that so switches

I know what you're doing nikka. I don't blame you. His defense is the one thing this board will probably never acknowledge because it's the last card y'all can play. The moment y'all concede that he actually is a good defender - you can no longer use the 'he only plays one side of the floor' casual fan talking point.

But you just said the Westbrook has been guarding him the entire series. So which is it - is it OKC switches everything or Wesbrook has been guarding him all series?

is it any different than saying Westbrook is 8-25 with 7 turnovers against Curry? How many points is that? How many blocks by other players are included in that.

How many ASSISTS are included in that because that matters too, right? If you're causing your defense to have to bring over help freeing up other players and they get an easy basket off that then you're not playing solid one on one defense.

If Curry was the Westbrook stopper then surely he'd be the primary defender more often. Warriors watch film, if this is what they were seeing they'd make the adjustment and yet it was still Klay on him down the stretch rather than Curry. :mjpls:
