Western Digital unveils WD TV Play streaming box

@HARLEM AL... it doesn't have an official Youtube app, but you can view Youtube videos through Plex.

You can add an extension to your browser that enables you to queue up videos from sites online from your PC to the Plex app in Roku.

It works with Youtube, but I haven't used it with too many other sites.

roku has more custom channels plus it has the support of plex which once installed gives your even more channels and ability to play almost anything you throw at it

plus i dont like jumpin on most tech products soon as the drop, so i would say go with the Roku

My parents got roku, i got apple tv...only reason i went apple tv is to stream movies or content off all my devices(phone,comp, i pad)...i was unaware of this streaming on roku. Wd and Roku r the same price, id go id def go roku, mostly cause its got the sports sites to stream...

I live in a house thats 99% Apple and I just picked up my 2nd Shield TV Pro. Like it better than my Apple TV 4k.

Got a Plex server running on a NAS synching with a Seedbox. Shield TV eats up that 4K stream like nothing.

Here in the UK the second hand Pros are selling for more than the retail price of £200. I've seen a number hit £300.
I'm interested in one, but not that much. The regular one is widely available new for £150.

The resellers have all lost their f*cking minds, they're going from $350-500 through Amazon resellers and ebay.
