Yeah let's stop NY rappers from spitting Gritty shyt over Loops...
"Smack who is this nikka? "
nikkas do shyt outside of the box they biting the south. When they do the Sample shyt it's old, it's been done before..
Let these nikkas keep blessing us with the fire. Go listen to that garbage ass Kanye album.
I dapped even though you're probably talking about my post. Besides, you've got Firing Squad as your avatar. We probably don't disagree about very much.
You still might not agree but I wanted to clarify. First of all I don't usually like any beats that aren't sampled. Not really my thing. Second of all, this shyt is 90% doper than anything else that's coming out, period. I also put the Kanye album directly into my trash can besides the Madlib produced joint and the two joints that Havoc produced.
I don't have anything against loops. Many of my favorite beats ever are loops. I'm just a production/beat nerd, and Roc Marci and Ka have been delivering that dope drumless loop shyt for a while now. There are lots of loops with dope drums too. I'm talking about just looping a sample and walking away from it. Even then, doing that is regularly fire.
But it's just gotten a little bit cliche when every single joint by every up and coming NYC artist is a loop with no drums on it.
I fukk with Conway & Gunn, and I fukk with Hall & Nash EP and the Griselda Ghost EP. I fukk with the Roses are Red and So Is Blood EP.
Conway and Westside Gunn were originally on this beat instead of Styles P. This is a loop too. The difference between this and this Dudley Boyz joint is that this has some drums on it, which can also be dope.
My point is just that sampling is dope, chopping is dope, looping is dope, and looping with no drums can also be dope, But it's also been trendy as fukk for the last 5 years.
