Man, this might be my least favorite WSG project in close to 5 years, and one of the weakest Griselda releases period. I feel like this project plays right into all the recent memes about him. I been seeing a lot of memes about Griselda and drumless beats on The Booth recently, but this really is. A couple points.- Conway's most recent 2 projects there's only 1 drumless beat on the Alchemist produced EP and only 2 drumless beats on the Big Ghost produced EP. Benny's most recent 2 projects there's only 2 drumless beats on Tana Talk 3 and there's no drumless beats on Plugs I Met. WWCD also had no drumless beats. But here on Awesome God 2 there are only 2 beats with drums. shyt's overkill.
- The verses seem mad lazy compared to Awesome God and Paris. Awesome God sounded cohesive enough to be an album, and calling this Awesome God 2 when this is so much lazier and hastily pasted together seems weird. Awesome God by most accounts is one of his better releases, so naming this one as a sequel to that seems dumb.
- I agree with the people saying this seems like a promotional vehicle for Cooks, Boldy, and Armani. I know West is not an emcee's emcee, but the verses on here from those them and Benny mostly outshine West on here.
- Paris was a dope project, and I don't get the few people that seem to like this more. Besides nothing on here to me that's touching tracks like 327, Bondo, Euro Step, $500 Ounces, Shawn vs Flair, or Clairborne Kick.
- Even the cover art seems lazy.
This is a solid 2/5 from me.
