Margiela Split Toes is crazy.

I honestly think Griselda is getting close to having the best catalog in rap. I mean who else has this many good records? Besides Wu-Tang?

Son, as a crew they catalog is crazy. GDMM and TT4 is sure to be fire already and if they come through with the other shyt they promised like Hall N' Nash 2, Gunnlib, Reject 3, Stabbed and Shot 2, Don't Get Scared Now 2, Griselda and the Blazettes with Just Blaze, Conway and Benny: Machine and the Butcher, Conway + Gibbs, Benny + Gibbs... idek how you could argue that. :wow:

This reminds me of a discussion I was thinking about recently.

I think whether we all realize it or not, the odds of hearing many genre-breaking truly amazing 5-mic albums like Cuban Linx, Liquid Swords, Illmatic, Chronic, etc, from here on out are pretty low. We may get an occasional one, but I think the odds of getting a ton of them are lower. So my question is, how many super dope albums that are consistently great (if not groundbreaking) does it take to get the respect of one of those groundbreaking albums?
:jbhmm:
Like, Raekwon always has Cuban Linx, and that can never be taken away. But is there ever a point where someone could drop 5 really solid 4 mic albums and be seen as having a better catalogue than Rae? Or does 1 Cuban Linx level album top a handful of 4 mic albums no matter what? I'm genuinely curious.

And lastly, it's so much easier now to release more music. So it it unfair to the 1990's and 2000's cats that they have way less music to put up against a lot of today's artists that can drop a couple dope projects every year instead of one dope project every couple years?
