I fukk with Gunn's music heavy but i always laugh when he drops another album of random goon talk, drumless piano loops and wrestling references and is like "this ain't rap....this is AVANT GARDE HIGH ART....this album should be hanging up in THE LOUVRE"

Agree, and I always laugh at it, all that extra shyt to sell it. But to be fair, dude gets three Madlib beats on a 'throwaway' album, even puts two lesser known guys on there just to get them to shine.
And like with Who Made the Sunshine for example, it was regarded as trash to get out of the Shady contract, yet he got two Slick Rick verses on there.

The Louvre would be a bit much tho

Can someone help put me on? I've listened to Griselda on and off for I wanna say 2-3 years and I do really want to like Westside Gunn, but I feel like his work is genuinely the same album every single time. Almost nothing changes from the delivery to the lines to the sampling to the wrestling references. How similar each project is becomes even more telling because he drops like 4-5 projects a year it feels like. It's good, but what exactly separates one Westside project from the next for people to be excited?

I don’t think Stove and Estee are on every track since he said it’s a curation. It’ll probably be some shyt like they all have solo tracks and a few where they collab.
