i wanna thank West for putting Estee verse first and not middle
it saves me time trying to cut his verses out and precisely putting the songs back together for transitions

West have 2 people he need to cut bait from: i never wanna hear another Keisha Plum spoken word or Nack verse on his joints

This the wackest Griselda drop so far. One of the best songs is over a sample that mad people have rapped over in the past year. I've heard Nack spit fire verses before, can't figure out why he abandoned his better styles/flows for what he's doing now.

So according to stereogum this is a mixtape.
How is this a mixtape? There is no mix, no DJ, no rapping on other people instrumentals.
His album "There is no sunshine" had zero promotion from the label.
Artists refuse to call albums "albums" because that shyt might have abysmal numbers.
He should just call it a project then.

I agree that all this is ridiculous, but WSG didn't start it. The first mixtape I remember with no mixes, DJs, or rapping over other peoples' beats were Section 80 and and Return of 4eva. Ever since that era a lot of projects with original production and no DJs have been called mixtapes. This trend is definitely a good 11 or 12 years old.

I started listening to Estee Nack back when Purpose, one of the members dropped "Purpose of confidence". Out of the three in the group I thought the least talented. Somehow he got a longer and more productive career than Purpose & Codenine. I read an interview a while back that he really loved the unrestricted beats making style of the post Roc Marciano/Griselda era. He felt that he could express his rhyming style and experiment. From that point, he definitely found a kindred spirit in Al Divino.

Next thing that guy is gonna be like, "Mixtape? What? It's not on a actual cassette TAPE with DJ Clue hosting!"

When did it become a source of pride to be living under a rock... lmao.
