it frees you up from having to work?

they'll suck every last penny out of it, but prices will drop to zero after this "peak"....if this theoretical outcome ever happens.

I don't know what the fear is. What are switchboard operators doing now? humans adapt.

When robots are doing your taxes, making your burger, picking your fruit, washing your car, tutoring your son, and grooming your dog, what jobs are gonna be left? :damn:

:yeshrug: Thats how society advances bruh... the tractor drawn plow took away the jobs of 100 dudes with shovels..do you really want those jobs back?

plus the Creative Jobs will probably never be done by machine

Nikka, once everything gets mechanized you will be subject to the whims of the super wealthy. If it doesn't catch their fancy, you too will be on welfare :wow:

That's the catch...yes they will. Algorithms already write articles and compose music. And this is my overall problem with AI taking jobs, it's not meant to supplement, it's meant to replace.

I mean, really what is a "creative job", and how many people actually can do that? Enough to sustain a nation? Of course not.

Basic income is going to reduce us to a permanent under and overclass. I don't know what the potential implications of that ate, but I can imagine.

Y'all can have it...I don't want that future.

Pretty much, this some real pinky and the brain sh*t. But if your rich though, you will have millions of whores to choose from :banderas: #WATTBA

there needs to be AI regulations

i never thought id find myself feeling like a conspiracy theorist but i fear a future where we rely on machines to "think"

Who's gonna regulate it? The rich? :laff: You can't stop people from investing in things that make them more money, that after all, is what capitalism is all about, unless of course, you're some kind of communist :mjpls:

you do realize some bruhs/bruhettes are not even of working age right now. they wont have a shot OR A chance to "get money now."

so unless you get RICH. not get money. RICH. we will all be subject to the stipend. unless you're a computer scientists/data scientists/computer engineer or heavy duty programmer. its a wrap for most of us. and i'm telling you now. you can do all the stem stuff you want. some people are just better at it than others. if all things are equal and we all get the same stem education. some of us will blow you out when it comes to stem stuff. we naturally THINK logically which is the bases for engineering, computer science.

Basically you need to learn how to build your own robot. The next few decades are going to be analagous to the nuclear arms buildup, except with tech. If you're not up tech you better be ready to steal, kill, suck and f*ck, because that's the only way you're going to be able to eat :wow:

robots are coming for everyone, that's why im learning coding on the side

the robots will let me be one of their useful idiots :blessed:
#robotlivesmatter :mjpls:

Pretty much you need to be in either coding or hardware. But even that can be mechanized. In the end it will be a few thousand people controlling all the robots and the billions left feeding on slops. It's truly a slippery slope, human beings will be their own demise :bryan:

I guess we're playing semantics, automation can and is doing that work presently and will only get better with time. Point is, industries that needed at one point 100's of thousands such as writers or music teachers and composers, can be erased with software. The software is not being used to supplement their abilities, IE write faster or play a chord better, but to do the work of many with few.

Do I think all people will be jobless and dependent on a welfare state, no...but this brave new world we're entering is going to give a new meaning to the talented tenth.

You'll have your prodigies in every field, but imagine it being as hard to start your own business as it is to make it into the NBA. Imagine getting hired by that business being as hard as playing for D-1 NCAA basketball. While the rest of get us that $300 a week stipend to make ends meet. Social security ain't paying shyt, why would y'all expect basic income to pay shyt? The rich aren't breaking bread...that's how you stay rich lol WTF...

I don't want the one percent to be able to determine the path I walk in life. What will inevitably happen is, and it already is happening, is the upward consumption of wealth and resources. What will eventually happen is you have so few people controlling everything, what happens when some malevolent hedge fund manager gets control of those resources. Your soylent green scenario. I don't trust people enough for that. Power corrupts...unchecked power corrupts...nepotic power inevitably corrupts.

They have a term for this...it's called Neo-Feudalism.

My thing is this, it's going to happen regardless we want to or not. I'll be fine, I'm one of those manager/directors that's already at the top of my organization. I'm trying to give some of y'all the light...you won't be smoking weed all day playing Xbox, and just waiting for your next government handout.

This man gets it  Unless you're the best of the best you're going to be out in the cold :damn: Better get your certs up now and help the rich get richer, kill or be killed :wow:

If algorithms can do the job better than humans, it's irresponsible to allow humans to do the job.

This is exactly what happens in a capitalistic society. Eventually human beings become a dollar sign, that's the sad part. There's only so much human capital you can consume before it becomes less valuable. Whenever you start wanting more than you need, it inevitably leads to this bullsh*t. And the crazy part about it all is that we deem this to be an advanced society. :mindblown: Tribes have been practicing sustainability for centuries, perhaps millenia without issues, and in a few hundred years we are going to end ourselves over the pursuit of meaningless pieces of green paper. :wow:

I'm all for it. However the workers need to take it over for themselves.

Basic income is a scam by the one percent to ensure their power

How can you control what you don't understand and don't have the capital to have someone else manage it for you? :laff:

all this is true but to think because you're a manager/director at your org and believe you're safe is hilarious. you aint safe either bruh. unless of course you are a 1%er. if that aint the case. you aint safe.

I'm being sarcastic breh...earlier on, I indicated I don't want the 1% dictating my life. Believe me, if you knew where I worked, you would be on your toes at all times.
