Which is why you have to be careful about giving the fans what they want. We all knew that once Cody's forced story was finally over that there wasn't anything left to make him interesting. The difference with Melo is that he could actually be used to elevate the mid-card belt like Miz did the IC belt years ago. Having Melo lead the mid-card scene opens up the entire division and makes the show more entertaining.

Yes, but even so this story line between those two didn't make sense at all. Melo doesn't need a mouthpiece, he just need to be in a decent story instead of jobbing every Smackdown to another star that HHH wants to prop up. He is just as talented as Tiff, Jacob, Bron but not getting to opportunity to even be a main person in the IC title picture .

I have said this a couple of times but as a watcher of NXT..... The Trick and Melo Barbershop vignettes were some of the most culturally relevant shyt they've done in years. It should be a no brainer to take what worked down there and present it on the main roster. '

Missed that era of NXT…but on this clip, Trick carried the entire segment…the charisma gap is apparent…Melo getting called up without Trick is what killed him
