Got it on a whim for Christmas. Didn't know what an RPG was, but at the time I knew Mario could do no wrong, so I circled it in the Jc Penny Catalogue and took a chance on it. This had to had been before I wasted a rare gaming opportunity in asking for Mario is Missing, so I was confident in making guesses like that. I didn't live in America and around the time this came out, we had no Internet, and virtually no media on it, so I was going off of Box art.

Needless to say, I spent all of Christmas Night playing the fukk out of this game well into the morning when all my cousins came over to play MK and I had to reluctantly turn it off and play that. shyt was magical from helping Mallow find out about his heritage to facing off with the Axem Rangers and the secret overpowered character in that fukking Dojo.....let me just stop.

Around the time the Playstation came out, I saved up enough Quarters and dollar bills to pay for my own unit so at this point in time, I was copping shyt for myself, so I had way more freedom. I'd been following up on Final Fantasy 8 for so long and wanted to get down on in the MINUTE it came out since by that time I was already neck deep in Rpgs (Tactics/Saga Frontier/Alundara/Arc The Lad/ Star Ocean 2..not sure of the chronology but still) and knew that whatever this game was, I'd be able to stomach it just for that FF8 Demo.

Turned it on....and had the second best RPG experience of my life behind playing Super Mario Rpg for the first time. From the music, to the characters, the simple yet satisfying gameplay coupled with all that charisma chibi characters like that had back in the day without too much sass. I bought the second one off the strength of the title only to be horribly dissapointed with the art and gameplay style that had none of the charm of the original and couldn't even muster up any of it's own. It's a shame the playstation store in America never had this title. It's an awesome game.

You see the name, right? I fukks with this series HEAVY and would love to see a prequel or a remake of the first two with the new(er) physics engine of 3. Apart from the annoying baby levels, this shyt had it all, black humour, an engaging storyline, memorable characters and locations, narrated beautifully in a Noir York meets twin peaks like style that carried on in the second and was completely omitted in the 3rd one because Rockstar lost their ability to pay proper writers to make funny stuff in their games and just bludgeon you over the head with volume rather than substance and without Remedy's talented team at the creative control helm, we had to endure Kerry King Max Payne which speaks for itself.

Just like bruddas

I wanted to say Brave Fencer Musashi but I only played it once. Still one of the best RPGs I have ever played

Breh I saw this on youtube today after watching games that define you on all def digital and almost :sadbron:. I used to put in HOURS on these games. Live '95 was the greatest game ever at the time. That golden state line up of chris webber, latrell sprewell, Tim hardaway, and Chris Mullen :banderas:.

Coach k in 95. That UNC line up with rasheed Wallace, Jerry Stackhouse and Jeff McGinnis :ahh:
I really felt like these games couldn't be topped back then.

Only the :flabbynsick: know bout these classics.

Last one was doom on sega genesis. I remember playing this for hours on Friday and Saturday nights till 2 or 3 in the morning.

What top 3 games took up all of your time as a kid and holds a special place to you?

Used to play Live with the fouls turned off with a friend. It was like Arch Rivals basketball after that. :banderas:

My top three would probably be:

Super Mario World
Final Fantasy VII
Doom 2 on PC
