Favourite era of music ... the musicianship of this decade was unbelievable.
What's Goin' On & There's A Riot Goin' On came out in the same year
I second every suggestion in this thread...
Ohio Players - Pleasure is a mainstay for me. Pride & Vanity, Our Love Has Died, Funky Worm...
Bob Marley - Burnin
Bobby Hutcherson - Montara ... Bobby on his Latin Jazz sh*t - the title track alone still gives me goosebumps
Fela Kuti - Expensive shyt ... only two tracks but it's Fela in his 10 minute grooves preaching that real... Waterrrrrrrrrr ...
Heatwave - Central Heating ...
Star Of A Story one of the understated gems of the funk era from an understated group
Herbie Hancock - Sunlight ... this one deserves a topic itself
Roy Ayers WHOLE 70s discography is flawless to me. Every single song bruh. Go into Everybody Loves The Sunshine & Vibrations, then Mystic Voyage, Let's Do It etc. His album Africa, Centre of the World was released in 1981 but it's my favourite album of his (in my personal top 2 albums ever) so check that joint out
Lonnie Liston Smith - Visions of a New World ... it's like one long spiritual journey. Such a peaceful, liberating, tranquil album.
George Benson - In Flight
Minnie Riperton - Perfect Angel & Adventures In Paradise. The greatest voice ever
I think I may upload these albums and post them to you. These albums (and era) have almost shaped my musical ear and even moreso my outlook on life. Lol you got to listen to these albums we're recommending man ... give 'em a listen.
