What age do you think it's best for a new rapper to enter the game in?

I'm jus thinking bout cats like Joey Badass, lil durk n lil reese and it's crazy to me to see how their best days musically are prolly already behind em.

These nikkas ain't even 25 yet :damn:

I think coming in too early nowadays can fukk you up, not only creatively but business wise as well. You stay hearing stories bout how dudes who signed young been raped or had lil control of their career (Wayne, Juelz, Thug etc.)

Imo the best age for cats to break through is 21-23. If you have a good run at least you'll be 30 by the time it's all over.

Most ppl don't even kno who they really are till around that age anyways.

Enter the game or blow up? Realistically, if someone blows up by 21/22 they would probably have been rapping since 17/18. Probably longer. It's these industry plant cats that come out of nowhere and have no prior work. I believe there's an evolution to be had there.

Put in your work during teenage years...sign after having some indie bread at your disposal at 25-30.
That's how you keep a career.
Hov and Em were both damn near 30.

The best age is prolly 23 or 24.

Thats the age all the Drake's, Ken's Cole's n em blew

It's not so much she as compared to your business savvy, sound and drive. People have mentioned Jay and Eminem (who blew up around 27 and 28 respectively). Hell even Ye didn't blow up until 28 and he'd put in years of work.

I don't think age should matter just depends on what one is trying to accomplish. I hate that hip-hop is the only music genre that tries to place a age cap on it's artist. Skill is skill

When they are ready, if they are smart about things when they 18/19 then go for it. But if they just gonna get on and sign to some label and be done in a few years then fukk it, go to school.
