other than those 4 movies he hasnt done shyt. there is no range.....has he done any comedies? action movies?

Those movies are not all the same setting and he shows his range by playing these characters and making them believable. There Will Be Blood is set in 1902 while Lincoln is set in 1865. Gangs of New York was set in 1846 to 1862 and The Last of The Mohicans was set in 1757. It's not always about being able to do every genre of film but rather what the actor can do with what they are given.


The Last Of The Mohicans is set in 1757 while My Left Foot was set in 1950s. The Boxer's setting isn't in 1865 like Lincoln is. Gangs of New York starts in 1846 and then goes into 1862 and that's not the same as the modern setting of The Ballad of Jack and Rose.

Daniel Day Lewis is the best male actor in all of Hollywood right now.
