Facts

I've lost count of the amount of times I've heard people complain, "So and so only got the opportunity because they go out to lunch with higher ups, hang out after work, etc.".

I have no idea how these ppl thought things were going to play out.

A lot of folks have really been taught to think hard work is all that matters. I mean literally all it should take. Some learn otherwise early but some don't and get more and more bitter over time as a result.
