I don't clown Ross for being a CO. Where I'm from, nikkas become COs all the time. I never knew it was looked at like being police officer until I got on here 
I do think its lame that he lied about it and continued to lie about it after being caught. But the stans do make a point...he might have trumped up his past activities like all rappers feel they have to do but, if he was really soft out there, how come no one has got at him like that? He should be a prime target for sharks but, in his entire 9 year run, there's barely been anything.

alright tough guy, i'm sure there's various local/underground street rappers with albums on iTunes, who are still living what they rap about. I'm sure they'd love your monetary support....since they're keping it so real.

You do realize Ross got shot at in his own city right? If he died would you still be sitting here talking about "none of that street shyt matters"? Of course not. Of course it matters. Tell this to Gunplay when he got beat up, or the GDs when they made Ross cancel his tour.

Because Rick Ross has something to offer people that would potentially do anything to him. That's like saying "if Wayne is a fake Blood, how come he's still alive?". I understand what you're saying but Wayne is obviously a fake Blood. People just have more to gain from co-signing and working with him, than they do calling him out. The same goes for Ross. Ross is (or has been) more successful than any of that list when they caught their Ls, with the exception of Mase, who was handed an L by Wu-Tang, who was "on" and had nothing to gain from giving him a pass.
Wait until Ross has nothing to offer anyone, then we can compare him to that list.

I work in the industry, I know rappers that rap about their life, I support them.
I also support artists that feel perfectly comfortable about NOT rapping a lifestyle they don't live.
I hate when white media blame Rap music for kids being violent, they think if you talk about your environment you're glorifying "damaging the black community" in your words.
However, you got someone like Rick Ross, who's clearly stolen somebody else's identity, using a fake persona, getting rich off actually glorifying something he's not related to.
That's not cool.

Inmates hate the Correctional Officers who abuse their authority. Not every CO is like that. You can say whatever bruh.......I know where I'm from, nikkas would drink cooking oil before they signed up for the police academy. But I know plenty cats who decided to be COs. Look at all those hoodrat b*tches that get pregnant by inmates. If being a Correctional Officer was as repulsive in the black community as being police, why they working there then?

And you guys need to grow up. No rapper is really living the stuff they talk about. This is elementary. You think Jay is really bustin guns like he still talks about. Most elements of these guys lives are fabricated or some great stretch beyond what they actually did.
I'm not going to sit here and say Rick Ross is a total fake b/c a. I dont know him.....and b. you cant rap(in depth) for years about something you never had any involvement whatsover with. Why? Many rappers aren't doing the stuff they're talking about, that's fukkin obvious, Jay Z talks about experiences nikkas like me can relate to.
Stop being in denial, he's a complete fake, he stole someone's name, and appearance. Then lied about it, admitted it and looks like he's completely comfortable with it.
It may just be music to you, but for some its different nikka. There's actually rappers out there with something to say but nikkas like you would rather support a complete fraud to brainwash the masses.
And if he's gonna rap about something can't it be something uplifting? What's he doing rapping about selling keys all day if it's not destroying the "black community".
