Sports controversial opinions
1. NFL refs should get all game footballs from the same group of footballs, much like how baseballs and hockey pucks are taken from the same group giving no team an advantage.
2. Professional sports teams should buy their own stadiums, not have it funded by taxes. If they can only afford a 1,000 seat stadium/arena, than that's what they can afford.
3. Remove all salary caps. If a team wants to buy the perfect core of players, then let them. People will find out that it's boring to watch one singular super team blow out all other teams every game and will start watching all the other teams where the games are close. It would be akin to watching a pro team play in a league of high school teams. If a big contract player gets injured, that owner has to eat the loss.
4. In all pro leagues, get rid of draft lottery and institute a rotational draft. This way, teams' draft picks are preset to change every season, so there's no reason to tank.
5 Lower the age limit for playing in pro sports to 18. Players who sign a contract and play between 18 and 21 get a percentage of their income put into a savings fund that cannot be released until they are 25. This way, if someone spends too much, or has a golddigger spend all their money, or has mooches getting handouts..., then they have something to fall back on in the future. You never know. So when some is 25, they are a bit wiser with their money and life than they were at 18... for the most part. And if they are still successful at 25, then the fund is just gravy on top.
