What are some precautions to take after receving a warning from your ISP about copyrighting?

i got one, pretty sure it was Dallas Buyers Club that got me. Been using torrents for 10 years and never had a problem....just gotta find other ways to get that piff I guess, torrents are just too easy

my cousin got that same notices from his ISP and chose to ignore ignore them. FBI ran up in his crib, seized everything and hes locked up in jail STILL waiting for trial.

stop using public torrents. limewire and bearshare are the safest and smartest ways to download.

My uncle received a warning about downloading copyrighted materials and contacted me about it. I've been using his connection for many years and never had a problem, but for the first time ever I downloaded a movie off torrent that hadn't been released yet on retail - Catching Fire, Thor 2, and Frozen back to back to back.

I'm pretty sure since I've been torrenting almost every tv show I watch and albums I listen to for almost a decade that I may just need to avoid downloading unreleased movies, but I want to be sure. My Uncle is a serious ass, but I don't want the guy getting in trouble because of something I'm doing. At the same token, it's hard to just stop downloading shows when you've been doing it for so long - at least until I get DVR upon moving out. I don't even have HBO or Showtime - two of my go to stations for TV shows in recent years.

You guys ever got one of these letters brehs? What precautions did you take in response?

Nothing. No one has been sued, ever, for downloading a movie. No bs no troll, google it yourself.

People in the early 2000s/mid 2000s used to get sued/subpoenaed for music but never movies. No one lost ever in court for the music either, the record companies usually settled.

Direct download is the only way to go. You can find everything on filelockers. I just spend my $13 a month for my uploaded account and I got everything (movies, music, tv, etc.).

Stop downloading high profile stuff on torrents. The only thing I get off a torrent these days is anime.

I agree I would pay like 10 bucks for 3 month pass to off the radar file hosting sites to get blu ray rip dvds at good speeds

Thanks brehs! Daps and reps incoming. I'll probably just go back to the direct download life like I did before I got lazy and settled for easy torrents. What are the best websites you guys go to? Or do you guys just do the google + "Breaking Bad Season 5 episode 11 avi" route?

EDIT: You don't usually get letters for direct downloads right? Mainly just torrenting?
