The takeaway from this thread is that for WWE to "be cool" again like the old days, many, many, fukking MANY things would have to change from top to bottom.

The problem is the E is making money despite all the dumb shyt so nothing is gonna change in the forseeable future.

When WWF was struggling in the 90s they had to bite ECW and WCW and make a bunch of adjustments to stay in the game.

If someone was a threat to them now youd see them biting off LU and NJPW and doing what LU does which is take cues from shows that people actually wanna watch nowadays like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead etc

Was thinking about that earlier. I don't know a single weekly programme people watch for 3 hrs every week. shyt I love the walking dead but I'm not watching 3 hours of that shyt every week. and to top it off raw isn't even good.


Add to that 2 hrs of smackdown every week and a 4 hr PPV seemingly every second week.

Yeah like maybe once a month i watch Smackdown Live cause I like the live discussion here but the rest of the time I just catch the rerun on Hulu, they cut RAW down to 90 minutes for you and you can fast forward at any point

All it is now is wrestling, People haven't come to terms with that and it is starting to show. IWC might enjoy it but the casual crowd that's been around since the AE isn't going to sit around and watch fake fighting for 3 hours. The thing that got wwe over was the story lines. The matches were a bonus.
