Damn that was my song a couple of summers ago.. if its Common I'd throw up "The Food" and "Misunderstood".
Why whenever a thread like this pops up nikkas always quick to relay old ass shyt that aged horribly. Now some older beats are still phenomenal but others...

no beat since 2000 has been in the top 10 GOAT debate
12yrs without a contender![]()

first time I heard it...
come on son 2000's have some wonderful productionAnd why is this? Egineering has improved as well as the creativity of some of these producers. I think people are getting caught up in either nostalgia or the fact that the actual rapping was superior making the beat sound better as well. Half of Ready to Die is pure ass production wise today. I would take MBDTF over 95% of the classics on a production tip (not rapping so don't get it twisted)

This is the hip hop equivalent of high schoolers saying Kobe is as good as MJ.![]()

was destroying shyt on that track so it auto makes it sound better. The reason that so many of these old beats are still relevant is because of the rappers over them. Simple as that.smh@nobody mentioning a j dilla beat atleast 15 post in
