What are the lyrics that have you thinking like
Because they speak to your soul. The type of lyrics that will have you reminiscing on life, or even thinking on the future.
For me it's a line from Damian Marley........... All of his verses on this are
But lets focus on this one line
When he says " Boom, the youngest betta ragga going murda dem slow"
To me this lyric signified the struggle that the world puts us through, especially the struggle that we go through as black people. Though life is hard, and the system is set to work against us, our children are going to receive the greatest burden of the pain.
While we have made it through so much, our children are going to be born and enter this unjust system as well; and they will have to endure it even after we are gone. From a young age our youth are targeted, the media tries to distort their self image, the judiciary system tries to taint them as criminals, police shooting unarmed blacks, etc......
All of this wears them down mentally, which like the lyric said, is like a slow death.
But when I came to make this thread, I found out I misinterpreted the lyric.
So anyway, what are your most nostalgic/hearfelt lyrics?
