What are the official rules to playing a pick-up game of 21?

Exactly my dude. I've been in few games of 50 where the game ended cuz somebody actually completed all that shyt as much as I've been in games where dudes just wrapped it up cuz they were tired and got enough sweat in.

everything outside 3pt line = 3pts
the free shots are 1s shot from the 3pt line
if you're at 20 and miss the free shot down to 15
Tips if called.

This, except free throws could either be shot from the top of key or the free throw line depending on preference before the start of the game.

We played to exactly 21.

Seriously, for those that go by 1s and 2s doesn't it get annoying when someone shoots a 2 you're thinking its a 3 because you watch NBA basketball or a layup is 2 but 1. I think it would be simpler just going by 2s and 3s.

Growing up in Chicago in the 90's. We'd play everyman = varsity. It could be 20 dudes on the court, didn't matter. We'd go up to 32, 16 fg's straight-up. No 3's.

play UTAH .. every shot is 5points ...hit a shot..take a free throw...hit 3.in a row ...dudes can play D on you ..gotta reach 100..once you get 100..you gotta break the ice...which is hitting a shot at the top of the key..if you break the ice now you gotta hit a 3 to end it..If you hit the 3 ppl can try and match your shot ...if they do...the game continues and to win goes up 50pts to 150...and you do it again...

no fouls...tips are 10pts...

Growing up in Bed Stuy we played UTAH. Everything was 5 points. You could play to 100 or however high you wanted to go. If mad heads were tryna play, you had to have 25 points by the time the 1st person got to 50 to stay in the game. NO FOULS, but we called travels and carries. Eventually we didnt even have to make the call, just give that shyt up, you know what you did. If game was to 100, you had to hit ice from the FT line or top of the key (wherever it was decided u shot after scoring) then another for game. Never played 21 til I went down south to college. Now out here in Bmore they play some shyt called 50 that has too many rules and even tho game is only to 50 it can last forever with all the extra shyt involved. Everything is 5 points, when you get to 50 you gotta call ICE, before somebody says 'No ice', If you manage that and hit your ice shot, then you gotta call everybody out 1 by 1 to knock them out the game, unless of course you call 'Family' then you get to take on everybody at once. Unless of course somebody yells 'No family' after you hit Ice. If somebody taps in your miss from the FT line or a regular shot, you go back to zero or you out the game, I forget which. I think we used to do something like that with UTAH too.

If you get tied up, y'all are tied up until y'all ain't tied up no mo lol. Step you rip game up.
