I swear single means any song of an album? or are we talking about the singles that come out to promote the tape?

LOL singles are songs released for commercial consumption, separate from the album release, as a way to promote the album and the artist.

For example: Illmatic is the album. Halftime, The World Is Yours, It Ain't Hard to Tell, One Love were the singles off the album. They were all released prior to or during the release of the album to get people to purchase it.

Now some singles aren't on any albums, and are released to promote the artists upcoming project or whatever. For example, 0 to 100 was an official single but it's not on any Drake album.

i wouldn't call those singles you named the best of all time tho, that's just me. i can name alot of songs that have stood the test of time. songs like 2Pac's Changes is another gem.
