BMI (and ASCAP) handle royalties for Artists whose songs get played on the radio, commercials, movies, and that type of shyt.

They make sure you get paid for others using your shyt basically.

But the money is paid to the writer and publisher and can be no more than 200%. So if you wrote your shyt you are entitled to 100% max and the publisher owner gets the other 100% for a total of 200%.



So if you a nikka like you already getting the 100% of publishing portion for people playing/sampling any Cash Money song (since he makes you sign that over to him... ) BUT, if you ALSO gave your songwriting rights to along with publishing, you are fukked totally from getting any royalties off people using, sampling, and playing your songs.



The only thing you can eat off is show money pretty much and any sales royalties (if you haven't signed that away too).
