I am reading:
Talking to Strangers - Malcolm Gladwell - just got it for Christmas
the 99% Invisible City: a Field Guide to the Hidden World of everyday living - Roman Mars - this is based on the Podcast
Gravity's Rainbow - Thomas Pynchon - I have read this before but it took me 6 tries so now I am listening to the unabridged book on tape.
I have renewed this thing 3x and no one has a reserve for it. Lol
I have ordered Mindset: The new Psychology of Success - by Dweck. She compares those with a fixed mindset (me) to those who have a growth mindset. I am hoping that reading this gets me jumpstarted on working on programming/html (as a hobby first and then hopefully as a skill - currently mid 50s so too old for career change at this point)

I actually went to “The Corner” (Fayetteville and Monroe) when I flew into Baltimore and had a layover...
We went for a wedding and our friends tried to warn us, but I wanted to put a picture with the book

Damn, that bad? Like just seeing it on the shows it looks rough as hell. The neighborhoods looked like they haven’t advanced into the time period of airing.

This might be a good read

As someone who is in love with the wire it’s been a great read so far, to see behind the curtain of the show just makes me love it even more.

Just to give you an example of what’s in the book, the actor who plays McNulty was struggling with his Baltimore accent and Idris Elba was doing fine with his but every time McNulty’s actor shared a scene with him and started going back into his accent it would fukk with Elba and he would slide back into his. He told dude he gonna have to stay away

Saidiya Hartman is a brilliant writer, though a bit dense - and Reading Capital is my second favorite Capital-based book.
